Not necessarily on-topic for this site, but I know alot of people are doing builds here in the US.  bikecloset.com has some killer deals on SRAM components, especially Rival ... everything except batteries, cassette and rotors for $460.  Check their "Builder's Corner": https://bikecloset.com/product-category/builders-corner/

Note they have 2 different FD's, one for $59, one for $129, just a head's up!  I have no relationship with them, but have ordered from them a few times and they've been perfectly reliable.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Lightcarbon Bottle Cages
« on: April 18, 2024, 06:36:50 AM »
Anyone ever order Light carbon bottle cages? I know it seems like a trivial thing, but I’ve read some Chinese brand cages are too small for many regular bottles. Figure it’s probably an excellent deal if they work well, thought I’d check for any “definite no’s” from the group first!

Cyclocross Frames, Wheels & Components / Straight 1-1/8” carbon fork
« on: February 03, 2023, 06:54:05 PM »
Posting in cyclocross thread since I think that’s closest to what I’m looking for.

I have a Black Mountain Cycles MCD and am looking to pare some weight. Although the welded crown forks are very cool, they’re pretty heavy too. Anyone know of a good source for a full carbon replacement fork? It’s a straight 1.125” fork with 50mm offset and 410 A-C. I don’t mind coming a bit short for the A-C measurement but I’d obviously like to stay within 10-15mm.

SP Cycles makes one that’s pretty close: US $108.00  20% Off | Spcycle Full Carbon Gravel Fork 1-1/8 Straight Tube Disc Brake Forks 700C 650B Lightweight All Road Gravel Bike Fork
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mNsvweO

That one is a little short at 395mm. There are a few available through conventional channels, but $500 for a fork is a little rich for me! I’d pay that for the Ritchey if it weren’t too too short 386mm if memory serves).

Mostly wondering if anyone has any other suggestions or if that Spcycle is my best bet?

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Go-Zone Wheels
« on: January 21, 2023, 10:00:34 AM »
Anyone have any experience with them?  Ran into them looking for more information on Speeder wheels (got quoted $495 + $100 shipping for those with "Chosen SL" hubs and it was the search for Chosen hubs that turned these up).

Their X-Light wheels look interesting but I've never heard the brand mentioned anywhere.  https://www.go-zonebike.com/products-detail-405690

Anyone know anything about them?  Pricing looks pretty good (~$640 shipped to US for 1450g 45mm wheels w/ novatec 411's) ... https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803622170052.html

Any feedback appreciated!

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Elves Eglath?
« on: December 25, 2022, 10:14:35 PM »
Second post like this, but thought a separate thread would be worthwhile. Anyone with experience with the Eglath? I think it’s a really good looking frame, listed as their all rounder but not a single mention on the forum. Maybe too milquetoast … not light enough, not aero enough?

Anyway, thoughts or full build pics would be appreciated!

Anyone have any experience with the miracle cycling cr07-dl?  Looks like a pretty nice package, light, clean design, and depending on the listing you choose (all over the place of the “miracle official store”, as cheap as $599 with shipping in black matte finish with integrated bars, shipping included:

US $599.00 | Super light T1100 carbon road frame Max tire 30C disc road carbon friber frame

Thoughts?
