Re: DT 240EXP hub clones Goldix, Venfort In terms of geometry are similar but not the same.

Also DT350 weights around 360
DT240 EXP weights around 310
And this hubset weights around 320, so in terms of weight they are more similar to DT 240 (internals are quite equal in 240 and 350).

About bearings, freehub are different, compatible but Goldix freehub uses 6802 bearings and DT 6902 bearings (in old ratchet). Comparing with DT 240 EXP, this are a bit better, it uses 1526 (15 x 26 x 7 mm) bearings, so bigger ball race than 6802, so we assume that they have longer life.

In terms of bearings lasting 6902 > 1526 (15 x 26 x 7 mm) > 6802... theoretically.

Just a note: Goldix front hub uses 6902 and I think that it could be enough to use 6802 in this case and this will save some grams.

DT240 EXP front hub 24 holes center lock -> 104 grams
Goldix GDR310 front hub 24 holes center lock -> 113 grams

DT240 EXP rear hub 24 holes center lock -> between 204-210
Goldix GDR310 rear hub 24 holes centerl lock -> 206 grams

...His comment section is not the place to air your grievances, and he should delete your comments if he feels it clashes with his business plans...

Kind of sad realisation for the naive me that  comments on YT could be deleted.
An editor who wants only happy people, can turn the comments off.

Unless someone is trolling the thread. Shouldn't a negative comment be eventually neutralised by counter comments but not deleted?
So a reader can judge.
If there are only a few negative ones. Or they seem inappropriate. They won't have an impact.
I've seen many videos with negative comments that were debated.

Re: LTWOO RX hydro sets
His review video feels kinda silly though because his main complaint was the free stroke was wrong and then it turns out he never set it up. Glad it was addressed, but I feel like the complaining about it should have just been cut. Glad we're getting some info though!

Still relevant in the sense of the lack of manufacturer instructions / support though. Even the brake bleed instructions video makes absolutely no mention of the free stroke adjustment:

Will be interesting to see how early reviewers go with the stiff paddles + return of the right lever and whether these things have been fixed.

Re: Rinasclta Granite Aero "All Road" Bike Frameset I suspect it will be a while before we see affordable Chinese brands offer direct competition (rather than cheaper alternatives) to a frame like the Specialized Crux. The Crux is basically an Aethos with 47c tire clearance.

Designing, engineering, and manufacturing a new frame and frame mold is very costly from what I'm told. The only way to keep the prices affordable to consumers would be to share the costs across several brands. Cinelli, Top Carbon, and ICAN all offer the same aero road frameset but at different price points: Pressure, TCRF040, and A40 respectively.

Re: High end big brand OEM road rims 38/45/50mm on sale!!!
I had a similar issue. In my case I got an initial response with prices but after responding back with some follow up questions, he has not responded back to me. This was about 1.5 months ago. I sent some reminder emails but nothing. I’m assuming something I said in the email might have turned him off and he decided it’s not worth his time but I’m not really sure.

Same here. Seems I asked too many questions  ;D
I was genuinely interested, too. I got impatient and ended up going with Farsports.

Re: DT 240EXP hub clones Goldix, Venfort
I don't think they are heavier. A little more expensive, but I must say I have also been thinking of going that route

I have a set of Velosa MTB wheels, with their own replica of a DT350. On the front i replaced bearings almost immediately.on the rear I put original DT ratchet because the one installed jumped over its teeth continuously, after 1 year i noticed the cassette was not straight when rotating, but an oscillating phenomenon was hurting gear shifts. Eventually i replaced the hub with the real one....but of course this is just my experience i guess novatec is far better than these replicas

Re: CarbonSpeedCycle CSC wheels - avoid them
I have also had good experiences with them, so sorry you're having a bad time with this. I think their brake tracks are the best I've used so far, and the quality has always been really good.

registered 3 weeks ago, your only post is this one. Come on CSC people, do you think we are that dumb?

Re: 2023 VeloBuild CX-002 Cyclocross Frame
Not yet... I am hoping to get the paint finished late next week and built up by mid-may, barring any build hiccups.  The GF-003 looks like a mountain bike, so it may be overkill for that application, IMO.  I was cross-shopping the Airwolf YFR-066 / Rinasclta Granite, which, if I liked the aesthetics of it, I would have chosen that for the same use (not to imply it's ugly, just a subjective opinion).  I am hoping this CX-002 can survive light trail use and bunny-hops in CX, so we'll see this summer.

patliean1 has a few video's on YT with his ride impressions of the CX-002, posted on the first page here.  It'd be interesting to see a comparison video ;)

Cool, I’ll keep an eye out for your build…possibly I may have actually bought one by then  :) . Yes, i did see his vids and looks good. I think he was sent the bike for review though, so good to also hear from somebody who is a regular customer and bought themselves.

Re: Terrible customer service by Carbonda If you need to send 44 emails before you place an order, I also consider that being entitled. No company has time to answer 44 emails from a potential customer. That probably puts them at a net loss for that order.

I've dealt with many companies in my life, and Carbonda ranks among the top when it comes to response times, and being helpful/informative.

I once tried to ask Specialized what hubs they were using in their "DT Swiss" wheels, because I needed to order a different freehub body. It took me weeks of jumping through hoops and going through many different channels, before I got a useful answer (they were using Novatec hubs btw).
