Hub comparison info So I've had this spreadsheet for awhile now but I'm just finally getting around to posting it. If I remember my process correctly, all of these numbers are based off of Boost hubs as that seems to be the most current. So if you're looking for something different, your numbers may vary. Also, all of the information is direct from the manufacturer's site so real world weights may vary slightly but you get the idea.

Re: TanTan FM08 cracked during shipping Figured I’d close out the story on this one. I ended up doing a DIY carbon repair using the kit from Predator Cycling. It involved sanding down the broken layers of carbon and epoxying in fresh layers. I was initially suspicious of how well this would work, but the cracks turned out to be quite shallow and it seems to be holding up.

The bike is now built up and I’m having a blast with it! It’s my first full sus and I’m loving the extra confidence I get from it on the trails :)

Re: ICAN triaero A9 Frame arrived today. Here is a quick picture. So far I am very impressed with the finishing quality. I have internally routed a few cables which was a lot easier than I thought. I am still waiting on parts to arrive. I will continue to update as I build.

Re: ICAN triaero A9 Hello. I just got an ICAN A9 the other day and assembled it. The accuracy of the frame was very good.
I won't go into impressions as I haven't run much distance yet, but the flats are as fast as the Bullet Train.

The routing took a lot of time, as did the FSA ACR.

FYI.
Size: 52 (I am 177cm tall, and 82cm inseam)
Group set: Ultegra 8020 (crankset with power meter 6800)
Wheels: Carbonal Tubular Wheels 50mm deep
Weight: 7.3kg (without pedals and bottle cages)

Re: ICAN triaero A9 Build complete.
Weight 8.2kg
Price £2200
Price and weight includes everything you see in the picture and Magene power meter. Carbon saddle still hasn't arrive which should drop the weight even more.

Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056 I just finished my build of this frame with the integrated handlebars.  I ended up having to order the FSA ACR headset and spacers as the bearing and race in the Carbonda headset did not sit flush in the fork/frame interface.  The headset spacers are also much nicer on the FSA headset than the Carbona one.  Attached in a poor quality photo of the handlebars (have not decided on handle bar drop yet so no top cap or cut steer yet).  The finish seems really nice, they are a little more flexible than I had anticipated, although no outside rides yet as it's the middle of winter.

Re: ICAN triaero A9 Out for a ride with a mate today. Does it look like there's nearly a 10k price difference? Definitely doesn't perform like there is. ;D

Re: Velo Build R-099 Build My VeloBuild arrived last week and I just got it built up. Its great, the construction seems really good. everything was precise and in the right places. There were definitely a couple little details that had been overlooked. For example, it would have been really helpful to have a shift cable race under the bottom bracket but instead it was just a hole. Which means that you have to remove the BB to replace the front shift cable. But this is at the end of the day a little thing. Overall, really good experience. Excited to get a sense of how it rides after getting a couple 100 miles on it.

Re: TanTan TT-X21 frame And look at the hambini bb in action on tt-x21 frame after I had to take the whiffle/flap wheel to expand the size of the bottom bracket to the correct diameter.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame Here's my build! Just a plain black matte because I was already over budget with the 105 R7020 groupset :) It's my first ever build but because of all the redos from self-inflicted errors it feels like I've built three bikes already. Rides great (especially compared to the commuter bike it replaced) though I think the headset bearings are loose.

Great resources:

- GCN & Park Tool YouTube videos.

Chris + Velobuild were great at being responsive and answering questions (pre & post sale), but there were a few issues:
- I think we'd all appreciate timeline transparency and realistic estimates. Waiting for months is a part of the process, but they don't have to obscure what's going on.
- My VB wheels ruptured dangerously. I've since purchased ICAN wheels.
- Chris & VB have gone radio silent after my VB wheels ruptured.
- The weight of the frame was incorrect. For a size 52/S, it's actually 1100g for the frame, 473g for the fork, and 244g for the seat post. They had said: "Frame 168 M about 1000g ,fork 400g ,seat post 180g ."
