Re: Forum name? For what it's worth, I live in South-East Asia and of Chinese descend. I was never offended by the name ChinerTown. And having been a member in this forum for several years now, I've seen a number of Chinese (both cyclists/enthusiasts and vendors/suppliers) joining this group but it is only now that I see someone considered the forum name as offensive for being racists.

Is this a product of the American woke generation of over complicating things and finding faults in pretty much everything? If so, we don't really need those BS here.

Re: Softail titanium MTB 29/27.5+ (all mountain - bikepacking)
What is this intriguing bottle ?
Isn't it too hard to pump up water from that low ?

It's a hydration hose with bottle cap adaptor so you can use it on PET bottles & etc. I use to have that too, I remember they even have adaptor caps for wide & narrow mouth Nalgene bottles. You just suck it like a long straw. I believe the length of the hose is (unless modified) pretty much the same lenght as those with hydration bladder placed inside a backpack.

Here's one...

Re: good all in one bike lights for night riding I'm using the Gaciron V9S-1000. Lots of folks here (including a bunch of my friends) love & uses Gaciron products. This model even comes with a wired remote and mounts. You can get them from Amazon & AliExpress.

Re: Random tools/clothes/one-off gadgets you recommend buying from Aliexpress? This rechargeable helmet light. Small enough not to be bothersome on the your helmet. Front light is usable, perfect as backup. Rear light is very good. What I love most about it is the Power ON button. One click to cycle arount front light's settings. And double-click to cycle around rear light setting. So you can combine different setting for front & rear light.

If you look around, you'll find it stamped with other brand names. Some cheaper, some more expensive but they're all the same product.

Do you have any safety concerns with the possibility of this compromising the helmet in a crash,? If you are unlucky enough to fly off and hit the top of the helmet while something like this is strapped on... I don't want to know what would happen.

Safety aside, looks pretty cool haha

I go with the logic that if I can see much better and improve the chances that I'd be seen at night, then the chance of crashing on something strap to my helmet is significantly decrease. Plus, the light can easily be mounted or removed, so I only attached it during the dark when needed. With that, I rather have it than worry about crashing on the wrong side of my helmet.

Re: Chinese forks Of the 3 forks mentioned (Ztto, Bolany & Himalo), I've only seen Bolany locally. Lots of folks in the local scene have posted pictures & videos of Bolany breaking. Not crack or bent/dent but literally break into pieces. A couple were even on their maiden rides. And a lot of those aren't even aggressive riding.

Re: ZTTO 54T Star Rachet upgrade kit for DT Swiss hubs It's now April 2022... and after April Fool's day. With close to 5,000km, my cheap ZTTO star rachets are still in good working condition.

Sorry the pic doesn't show the full details. The bike was being serviced and I just did a quick snap. But the mechanic was quite impressed with it's condition.

Are you using the DT Swiss grease?

No, I'm not. Just some cheap no brand grease.
