Title: Carbonda CFR 1056 or VeloBuild 177?
Post by: abdbeg on April 03, 2023, 12:56:52 PM
Hey there

I was looking to buy VB 177, but reading this forum i came to conclusion that carbonda have overall better quality, but i really like 177 design, and would buy 1056 only if quality is significantly better, what do you think? My goal is to find a good, very stiff and responsive frame, like SL7.

I was also looking for ican a9, but their quality control is really bad from what i see.

Also, other frames suggestions will be good.

The geometry on these two frames is crazy different, kind of hard to compare the two. You should first evaluate what kind of riding you would like to do.
If you want something like an SL7 I would stay away from the 1056 which is solidly in the endurance/comfort/all road category. Since you're already looking at Velobuild maybe the 168 would fit your needs? It's literally an SL7 copy.

Yeah... i know about geometry, but i'm so tired to see problems with Chinese frames, so for me it's much more important to get product that have better quality.. regarding VB 168, well i was thinking about it, but Patrick Lino said several times in his review that 177 is stiffer and overall better value.

I'm on a VeloBuild VB-R-168 right now for road and have a 177 on order as I also want to compare the stiffness.

Wow, waiting for your review.

Also i was thinking about ican a9, and i have opportunity to buy it much cheaper (just for 750), but they are using T700 and T800, (i know that it more depends on the carbon layout, than on it's type, but in case of Chinese, i don't think this is always the case, i think it's also wise to relay on CF they are using)

Maybe you should wait a little longer. Carbonda will soon start selling the FM 1136.
The geometry is similar to the 1056, but has been improved in a few points. Stiffer, more aero and lighter.

I already have the frame and the build quality is very good. I will post some more pictures soon.

What about this carbon pony?
https://www.carbonda.com/road-frames/106.html

That's quite an aggressive geometry. There is one thread here with it. Other than that I haven't seen it, but it's also Carbonda. So it should be fine.

Thanks for all of your help, i will check suggested frames. But i also found this one: CR028 http://www.mira-factory.com/Product/detail/id/33.html, i think it may be frame i'm looking for:

-the geometry is aggressive (like Specialized SL7)
-they are making bikes for big brands, such as Yoeleo and Falco and quality seems very good
-price is also too good - 560$
-Weight is under 1kg, medium size
-T700 and T1000 (this frame one most expensive one)
-And it's looking very good, exactly what i wanted, SL7 looking frame, aero-lightweight forms.

What do you think, should i try it? This is a third of the price compared to Yoeleo.

Thanks, already checked it, there's just only one review, and Lexon using their gravel frames which gave some concerns, because Lexon is terrible quality
