Re: Velobuild VB-R-218
so many VB frames here but not a single review of VB wheels.

in fact, Patrick Lino had these wheels (the 38mm version) on his Velobuild 177, but he wasn't overly impressed by their ride feel and the heavy weight.

Check it out here:

Re: Scott Foil replica
I coudn't find the source of these photos, and i know this background and fake grass, they use it for other frames as well, so it's a real

Maybe they bought/borrowed the real bike to take some nice photos and then sell their fake framesets? Who knows...

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame Hey guys,

I ordered my frameset and its in the process of painting, in candy blue.
But I still have some questions while planning my build.

Did your frameset come with grommets for the exit ports of the brake hose? Meaning the holes in the chainstay and fork to prevent rubbung of the brake hose on the carbon.
Or did you buy Specialized grommets? Or use none at all?

Secondly: Does the frame come with di2 cable grommets? Or which ones did you source yourself?

How did the Di2-Users mount the battery? I read about just stuffing it in with bubblewrap, but is that safe?
Has anyone tried the SL7 Battery mounting grommets (S199900003)

Thanks for your input! Really looking forward to build up mine soon!

Greetings from Germany

Re: Yishun R086-D Aero Road
I’ve missed out on opportunities to review more premium products because companies assume I’ll somehow compare their offerings to cheaper alternatives.

Sounds like a good path!
But I hope you will always compare the premium products to cheaper alternatives. Value for money is what our community and your viewers are after, and not just high-end products no matter the cost.

Keep it Up!

Re: Systemsix frame The Adapt FM49-DB might be what you're after!

http://www.adapt-bikes.com/Products-detail?product_id=94

Speeder also has this: https://www.speedercycling.com/Carbon-Road-Disc-Frameset-SC-R49D-_p399.html

But good luck getting your hands on these. They don't seem to sell single framesets to private buyers.

Re: Systemsix frame
I just received a quote for my measurements (height: 183 cm, inner leg: 88.5 cm):

"SC-R49D frame + fork + seatpost + handlebar: US$780/set
Thru axles: US$20/set
NO.55R headset: US$30/set
Shipping cost: US$120
PayPal fee: US$45

The total is US$995.

I would recommend the size 50cm, reach 397mm."

The only thing that is holding me back from pulling the trigger is a lack of information I can find on the frame, e.g. reviews / pictures.

Is Speeder Cycling a reputable brand? And do we have people here that have experience with that particular frame?

Good to know that they are selling this now without the MOQ of 10.
Price seems very reasonable.

I dont have a Speeder myself, but there a few threads on this forum. They seem to be good quality, somehow also affiliated to winspace (their OEM, idk). I would buy from them without worries.

Re: Systemsix frame
I just preemptively ordered my group set (Ltwoo ER9) and wheels (Elite wheels Pro 55mm). After wrapping up a couple of final questions for Speeder, it seems like I have a beautiful build to do within the next couple of months.

Thank you all for the help. I will surely post pictures of the parts and complete bike.

Great to hear! Feel free to start a dedicated thread on the SC-R49D! I am sure a lot of us will be interested!

Re: VB-R-066 D Build The 066 just got updated to fully internal cables and T47 BB!
https://www.velobuild.com/products/2023-vb-r-066-carbon-fiber-endurance-road-racing-bike-frame-disc-version

When I spoke to Chris last week, he mentioned that they will release a new VB road frame in the next months.
I wonder if this might be it.

But the 066 is still interesting as a modern lightweight frame, with T47 BB.

Re: 3d printed stem spacers???
I've ran some 3d printed stem spacers on my bike for ~1000km after I built it up until the white color irked me enough to order some cheap carbon ones.

It was printed out of 100% PLA, didn't have any issues with creep in that time.
Since the load is compressive and fairly low, there will be hardly any creep especially if you print it 100% infill.

That being said, use PETG or something that won't deform in the heat :)

3D-printed spacers above the stem are a whole different story. They are not loaded and therefore not critical at all. They are only loaded while you tighten the headset. Theoretical (I ofc do not advise) you could remove the spacers after you tightened the stem bolts.

However, a lot of Allez Sprints use 3D printed spacer adapter for the SL7 stem, as a loaded part...
