Canyon S13 Seatpost copy New to this forum and biking in general. I had a bike fit and was recommended to get a setback seatpost. Based on some research (https://www.cyclingabout.com/seatposts-overlooked-yet-critical-for-cycling-comfort/) it seems like carbon ones are much more comfortable than alloy ones and canyon s13 / ergon cf3 tested as one of the best. Does anyone know where I could find one that performs similarly from a comfort perspective? Is seems like a lot of the 27.2 carbon seatposts on aliexpress like the toseek have the same shape as the canyon.

Also to add I have a aluminum bike with carbon fork (Norco threshold 2018)

Re: High end big brand OEM road rims 38/45/50mm on sale!!!
Peter, I've tried to email and message but no response, are you still around with any wheels available?

I had a similar issue. In my case I got an initial response with prices but after responding back with some follow up questions, he has not responded back to me. This was about 1.5 months ago. I sent some reminder emails but nothing. I’m assuming something I said in the email might have turned him off and he decided it’s not worth his time but I’m not really sure.

Re: DT 240EXP hub clones Goldix, Venfort
When I bought the 791/792, they were about 80 EUR per set on Ali. I think they're more expensive now. Either way, that's way cheaper than a set of DT350s. I wouldn't even get a rear hub for that money, let alone a complete set.
I only ever had trouble with the freehub bearings on Novatec hubs. But even those can be replaced for very little money. So I think they're definitely worth their money. DTs are bulletproof as well, however. If you're prepared to pay for them, that is. I got a set with 350s and they just last and last.

Ya 80 EUR is a solid price for the set. I’m seeing about 110 EUR just for the rear dt 350 and another 40 EUR for the front. I’m just doing preliminary research on building my own wheels and hopefully in a few months I will actually do it. For those that are not building their own wheels and are paying a LBS to do the work, I would only go for the novatec hubs if the price difference is >100CAD (70EUR). Anything less and it doesn’t make much sense considering the reliability factor and cost to get a LBS to do the hub maintenance (~50-70CAD in my area).

I would also look out for some sales in the near future for the previous gen 350 hubs now that they finally released an updated version of the road hub 2 weeks ago.

Re: Maxxis tires on Aliexpress? I can’t speak to the legitimacy of the tires from aliexpress but maybe look into maxxis tires from some of the European sellers. I have bought continental gp5000 (ProBikeKit) and maxxis ravager (bike24) for about 30-50% off local retail. I had warranty issues with my gp5000 and PBK was very easy to deal with. They just gave me a refund. Knowing bike24 is also a pretty reputable company I’m sure they would honour warranty issues as well

Re: Chinese cycling clothes I have a pair of aero socks from ykykw. After about 20 wears the silicone seems to not be as good and it does not stay up on my legs  too well. Could also be that I have hairy legs lol

Re: Ti Frames? http://chinertown.com/index.php/board,23.0.html

Edit: I realize it’s more mtb specific but I think a lot of what is discussed there can be applied to the road discussion as well

Re: WheelTop EDS TX Full Wireless Groupset (Chinese SRAM)
That’s my line of thinking too.  2 weeks ago I priced out individual parts for a 12spd Ultegra mini group (w/o crankset, chain or cassette) at about 1000.00.  That was looking across several different websites and looking for sales.

On Aliexpress I found 105 Di2 for 8-850.00

Agree. I'm seeing around $900 USD for a complete 105 di2 groupset shipped. I really cant see the value proposition for EDS road at the current stated price of about $700 EUR. Essentially equal in price since im sure you could sell the 105 crank and cassette locally for $150-200. There would only be a few reasons i can see for buying it: Wanting to use it on a 10/11/13 speed cassette, looking for lighter weight, want true wireless, or want for rim brake.

I was initially thinking about getting this after longer term reviews came in this summer/fall but only if the cost comes down to about $500USD. Any higher then that and I will go with 105 di2 after this cycling season
