Re: ZTTO BB92 BB86 threaded bottom brackets.
Nice! What bearing press/kit do you use?

RRP (RapidRacerProducts) Bearing Press, and the Proper Drifts (sold separately).

Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056
How did you specify your bar/stem? What were the options you were offered?
The Handlebar CHB1036 comes in these sizes (length*width in mm): 100*400/110*420/120*420/130*440

The link is here: http://www.carbonda.com/accessory/handlebar/109.html

What is this "fishing kit"?
Apologies for my imprecision, "internal routing cable tool" is a better key search term. As per usual, Park makes one and a dozen other brands sell similar for 1/4 the price.

The Carbonda spacers and the FSA spacers all detach in the middle?
Yes - Carbonda horizontally (looking at spacer from the side, there is a vertical line up the middle), FSA diagonally (i.e., asymmetrically). I think the FSA fit together better and were well worth the cost to upgrade.

Would you have chosen BSA68 over the pressfit if you had the option?
When I ordered, BSA wasn't available in quantity of 1 (implying I had to place a larger, B2B, order...) - and I would have taken that over the PF as additional insurance against creaking. :)

What size is it? And what depth are the wheels?
This was a size M & rims are 56mm depth. 31mm tires in this picture - & they clear with no problem (specified max width is 32mm).

Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056 I'm in love with the finish! The frame was wrapped with bubble wrap and foam rolls with plastic caps over protrusions.

Definitely glad I went with a Carbonda over name brands (which in my country do not even have frames above 54cm).

This is a 56cm frame with 110*420 integrated handlebar. I highly recommend FSA headset for the integrated version. Going for Shimano 105 R7020 and Elite-Wheels BWT. Will update with better photos in the near future.

Peering down the headtube. I like the look of EPS molding. The bit coming off near the green QC sticker, I plan to use some clear nail polish.

Out of focus shot of the frame in real lighting conditions.

Weight of frame+seatpost  (1323g)

Weight of uncut fork (483g)

Weight of integrated handlebars (417g)

VeloBuild Headset Play Issue Using Separate Stem/Handlebar: Resolved. I also posted this in the VB-177 thread. Figured a brand new topic/thread would better raise awareness.

I have finally found an easy yet permanent fix for the headset play issue when using the separate handlebar/stem combo. Please bare with me as I'll do my best to be clear and concise. You do not need an FSA ACR setup, nor disconnect any hydraulic or shift cables.

#1 - This is NOT a design flaw on VeloBuild's behalf. The issue lies in the particular C-Clip they supply, which sits in the middle between the upper headset bearing and the black metal bearing cap (dust cover).

#2 - VeloBuild's C-Clip uses two tabs in order to lock the headset cap into place. The supplied spacers also use these same little tabs/knobs in order to lock the stem in place as well. The problem with these tabs is they are just deep enough (when locked into place) to subsequently recess the metal headset cap (dust cover) too far into the headset bearing. This is why there's always headset play no matter how tight the compression top cap bolt is. Those little tabs are about 0.5-1.0mm tall which, when recessed into the dust cover, make all the difference.

#3 - The solution? Using a C-Clip that DOES NOT have those little tabs. Using a totally flat C-Clip means the headset cap/dust cover will still be level/flush, but it wont recess into each other by the 0.5-1.0mm mentioned above. This also enables you to use a C-shaped shim if need be, although you should not need to. Not having the recessed headset cap is basically a shim in of itself since the headset cap will sit 1mm higher.

#4 - I found all of this out while building my Yoeleo gravel bike. I had the same headset play issue. Turns out Yoeleo's headset bearings for the top and bottom are slightly two different thicknesses. The thicker (red bearing) one needs to be on top, and I had them reverse. During troubleshooting Yoeleo send me a spare flat C-Clip, but the fix was simply switching the bearings around.

The Takeaway - Confirm the headset bearings are indeed the same size (they should be) and thickness for top and bottom. Buy/Order flat C-Clip for the top headset bearing. I no longer even needed to use a spacer above the compression plug top cap. Everything is flush, and no headset play even after a 30 mile ride earlier today on terrible Chicago roads.

Photo 2 - The replacement flat C-Clip
Photo 3 - What the flat C-Clip looks like installed

EDIT - From the Carbonda 1056 thread: "In general these washers are between the slotted ring and the dust cover.
When you compress the bearings, the dust cover sometimes rub the top of the frame.
Adding one or more washers add some space to have only the seal making a light contact with the frame."

Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056 So I finished my bike about 1 month ago. Very very happy with it. A step (leap?) forwards coming from a Cube Aerial. Very direct, responsive, easy to ride and reassuring. Just rides fast. I go about 3-4km faster with 15 BPM less heartrate in my case. Can't find anything my Cube did better.

Very happy with the end result! Picture was without bartape for easy last minute adjustment of the brake levers. Will take a picture of the driveside one day. But first I've got some KM's to shred! 8)

Lightbicycle WR40 wheels Back in January, it was time for a new (light) road frame !

flybike-asia.com had one I really liked: https://www.flybike-asia.com/product/145.html
But Carbonda told me the MOQ was 30 ;D

At the same time a friend got me a super deal for an Aethos frame... and boum! I fell off.
Then looking for a light wheelset, I took the WR40 rims: https://www.lightbicycle.com/700C-road-bicycle-rims-32mm-wide-40mm-deep-symmetric-clincher-road-disc-brake-available.html

The finish is just beautiful UD carbon weaves with a shiny epoxy straight out of the mold, no coating.
Which apparently is more scratch resistant.
The wavy shape and the finish makes them stand out from the boring wheels around and that I had for years.

1334g, with DT240 Exp hubs and CX-ray spokes.
Always no spoke holes now, so no need ever to tape them.

They are 32mm wide.
28mm GP5000 tires fit perfectly for the aero.
And provide a very smooth and comfortable ride on the not so good roads here in Belgium.
They have now about 4 months and 3000km, and are still as new.
