rear triangle has no mechanical means of stopping overtravel as shown in the failure.  rear triangle is allowed to rotate right  into the main triangle.  My ibis frames with DW link would not allow this, my wife's blur frame would not allow this, no commercially available frame would allow this type of extreme overtravel during a moderate landing.

Dead Winow FS030.  did this last night on a 2' drop at speed.  Going to end my ice bike season a bit early this year.  Pieces of junk most of these china bikes are.  There's no overtravel limits like all other commercial brand carbon bikes I own.

well let me just say Winow FS030 is not recommended as durable.  Did this last night on a 2' drop at speed.

E-Bike Frames & Builds / Dengfu E06 e-fat bike full squish

Thinking about building a custom Dengfu E06 e-fat bike full squish.  Anyone here done something like this?

I'm sorry this happened to you

But one honest question. This is your fifth TanTan build, and you've had issues with four of them. Why do you keep purchasing from them?

Honest question How many bikes and how many wheel sets have you assembled "from scratch" in your lifetime?   no kits, all individual builds.

Once you find yourself doing builds from scratch, you'll find issues.  At some point, it's a question of "money saved".  For this build, which is to replace a cracked "main stream" bike build, getting a top of the line frame was not in the works.  It's my 7th bike and sees limited use during the winter.  i figured I'd roll the dice on the tantan as I WANT to run 5.05" wide tires on 100mm rims, which my old cracked main stream brand frame would not do.

TanTan acknowledged they didn't ship the special adapter as they should have with the frame.   Nor did tantan ever mention the brake adapter was special, nor did they ever mention one thing about it during my purchase inquiry or payment.  Good luck to y'all in your china endevors.  I'm swearing off anything that isn't mainstream going forward.  Too many issues.

TanTan'd again.  My fifth TanTan build, my seventh frame in total (sold two new unbuilt) since 2018.  Four frames have had issues - not minor ones either, including one cracked frame.

This one takes the cake.  I should have learned my lesson with this china crap and bought a name brand to replace my cracked Borealis crestone but I figured I'd roll the dice since I badly wanted a frame to accept a 5.05" rear tire.

Well, my seraph cs197 fat bike frame brake mount out of spec.  The hole pattern is 27mm on center where the standard is 34mm.

Throwing this out there.

Good luck to you all, in your builds, I am absolutely done with dealing with TanTan for any frame needs - after they fix my issue.  Any money I "saved" by going cheap on a chiner frame+fork+paint vs just getting something "name brand" even if it was made in china, is now out the window in lost hours of specifying, ordering, and assembling and dealing with issues.  There's a definate lack of QC/QA over at TanTan and it shows.  It's been that way for me since 2018.  Highly recommend you pass.  You might get lucky with your sample, but for me, 50+% of the time, you'll come up snake eyes.

Any chance a 3" tire on 35~40mm ID rim would fit on this frame?

That's why I use centerlock :) I forgot to mention that my rotor offset differences were on CL hubs.

over 20 carbon wheelsets here - most all all DT350 hubs - all 6 bolt.  Never stripped out one even after repeated rotor swaps.

FM936: 'down country', 120mm travel - website says 100.  Can you link me to the one post here among hundreds where this is tested/determined to be 120mm ?

I used FM to PM on a medium, with XTR M9000 brakes, and the brake actually touched the seat stay.  I had to grind the brake bolt to clear on the Medium FM199.  Not something I was happy with.  I was getting terrible harmonics with the rear brake set up and in the end, I had to install the caliper flat mounted with a 140mm rotor.  I tried many many combos of rotors, calipers and cleaning and could never get the harmonic squawking to go a way with a 160mm rear setup.

All my FM199-B builds had extremely close clearance between the chain and chainstay.  The chainstay always exhibited signs of rubbing (small scratches and small groves).  I used properly installed boost spaced Race face Next SL cranks Gen3 and 4, and Shimano XT M8000 Cranks boost spaced.  All rubbed.  On the race face, I had to flip the cinch chain ring inside out (backwards) to get proper clearance.  Not something I was happy with, design wise.

Curious If anyone has sampled one of these yet
Looks a shameless fox knockoff wondering if that goes for the internals as well?

Anyone test pilot one?

no way is it going to be a fox knockoff internally.  You will get what you (we) pay for.  Not knocking it, I may try one on my next 140mm build  It's getting too expensive to keep funding 5k~6k bikes.  I need a heavier bike for slow family rides, this may do the trick.

following this thread, think my next build is going to be a TanTan FM10 with 135mm travel back, 140 front.

Flyxii rims?
No

What's the bug on both builds?
I had a bit of clicking on my large frame, especially while locked out and cranking up the hills.  I just needed to go thru the bushings with a fine tooth comb (and grease and lockout).  They're both whisper quiet now except for a bit of cable rattle on the bumpy downhill rides in the downtube.  I'll put in a nerf ball to fix that.

Overall very happy with the price (and the quality with respect to that price)

Finished two the Winow FS030.   Same as TanTan Seraph FM038 Builds, in fact - I think  TanTan Seraph FM038 does not actually build these direct based on my interactions.  These were designed to be "Trail-XC" bikes, 120mm front and back.  We're on test run #4.  Really only one bug with both builds.   Here's my wife's medium.
