Thanks, that is the one, looking further at the specs it looks kinda heavy, 2500 grams with the shock. Rock shock list the shock at 300 grams.

29er / New Scott Clone

So the other day I was Looking up some info on a set of road wheels while watching Hambini's you tube channel. I ran across one of the Chinese manufactures website that had what appeared to be a clone of the newest Scott with the internal shock in the seat tube. I know I wasn't dreaming. Has anyone run across this. It's driving me crazy, I have tried looking in the history and everything.

Hum funny thing you mention this. I can remove the rear seat and then have room two 29" chinners with the front wheels removed. In all with full fuel tanks i could carry two carbon bikes with two 175 lb people with about 200 lbs to spare. This is great for camping gear and such. This would give me about 4.0 hr of flying. Of course you can always stop for fuel along the way. Problem is there aren't many flying destinations that you could camp and then ride. I wish there were. There are quite a few places you could land and camp though.

Title say it all. I know that most who post here ride because its a great hobby or sport. I personally ride for health and to reduce stress. So what other hobbies does every one have if any. I'll start. Mine is flying. Low time pilot of 3 years and about 150 hrs. I bought in to this shortly after i got my ticket. Its old, but well maintained. She flies great.

I am no mechanic, but i recently built a 29" chiner. I figured with all the reading that i did that i would have to "fit" some things. I was right i recieved my frame and the bottom cup in the headset was a little tight and out of round. May bee .002 -.003". Careful sandpaper work and this was fixed. My other problem was like yours be it nowhere as severe, but all the same my brake bosses need a little truing, but the bolts in mine were strait enough. A few minutes with a file and they were fixed It did fustrate me though.
I think i may have a solution for you. If you use the 160 rotor and get rid of the spacer the shorter bolts wont conflict with the rotor,but u will need to file the brake bosses perpendicual to the rotor. Then bolt the brake caliper to the bosses with the avid cones on the top of the brake caliper,(between the caliper and the bolt head only). Hope this explanation is clear.
If it were me i would not try to re-drill and tap the bosses. This may work, but i don't think that there is enough working room in the stays to properly re-drill and tap new threads. Plus you would likely need a jig of some sort to ensure they were strait.
I believe that the vendor should be responsible for a manufacture defect period! That being said a simple fix may be easier than dealing with customs, vendor, shipping, travel and so forth.
I am confident i could make this repair, but no matter make sure before you try any thing you are confident as well. Because if you damage the frame the vendor will likely tell you that you are on your own.

Thanks for all the input. As far as the tires I looked at the Geax Suguaro tires and thought these would be great, but then started looking at the weight. Wow these are heavy compared to icons or RR. Granted I have zero practical experience with any of these so maybe the weight wouldn't be noticeable. I also noticed a lot of the vendors (art's, pricepoint and may be more)no longer carry many of the Geau tires. Not sure why. I know that RR get a lot of good reviews. Are they really all that?
As far as the brakes I would have to agree with all comments. 180 up front no doubt would be more effective breaking. The faster and or stepper the grade the more braking required. That being said with my skill/fitness level and terrain that I ride, the 160 is likely sufficient. I will change the front one, but i will ride them as they are in the mean time.

Yea the 160 rotor thing was an oversight on my part I chose the 160 twice in shopping cart by mistake. I didn't know til i opened the box. I figured since the biggest hill within a 100 mile drive is only about 200 ft elevation i would ride them till i ordered something, and i would add it to the order. These are light years better than the rim brakes that i had on the tank. After riding a little more i will lower the stem some too i have 25MM spacers now. I figured its easier to cut it down than add. I cheaped out on the tires because of the favorable reviews at price point. (vee rubber flying V) These are turds on the wet roots. They might be ok on the dry as they were advertised for, we will see. Can any one recommend some hard pack with roots tires that don't weigh a ton, will mount on Stan's arch ex wheels without selling your soul to the devil. I was looking at the racing ralph's, but i am open to suggestions.

Well The frame arrived Monday. The box was in good condition and the frame was undamaged. I began assembly Tuesday morning, working when i had time. It went together easy. I think the hardest part was fitting the fork. I did have to bleed the brakes as i spilled a few drops while running the rear line through the frame. I did not have a bleed kit on hand and had to drive 60 miles to get one as the two shops in town didn't have one. Made the maiden voyage this morning. Trails were wet so i only rode about an hour, but all seems to work well.

Frame made it to Customs this morning.Yea! Not toooo bad only 33 days from payment to get to the us. Now i hope it doesn't get stuck in customs.

I know that Hong Fu seems to have a good reputation but i would consider carefully befor ordering. I ordered a frame that was in stock on 11/20 and never received a conformation about shipping till 13 days later (after second inquiry). Finally got a tracking number. It seems to be in Can Turkey since 12/8. No sign of it in the states yet. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and wait till the end of the month before i fill a pay pal dispute. I cant see how it can take thirty days from china to customs in the us. I feel as though it is likely lost. I would definatly go with iplay. Provided they have the frame you want.
