Re: WheelTop EDX OS Series Wireless MTB Drivetrain
$273.59usd is pretty damn cheap considering the GX is $600+

Re: FM1001 / FM1156 - 135mm frame
16 days for deliver to Pennsylvania US, not too bad. Very satisfied with the finish, nothing to complain about. Got a bunch of extra hardware. They sent a few too many hangers though. Very well packaged. Few emails back and fourth with Wing, she was very prompt. I'll be purchasing used parts and Aliexpess parts for my build. Trying to keep it very low price but decent spec as possible. I recently purchased a new takoff '23 Fox Float X2 ($425usd) and used '23 Rockshox Lyrik Ultimate ($680usd). I wanted to see for myself how much the X2 doesn't fit with the frame. Maybe try to rig something up to get it work. If it fails I'll sell it and get a used Rockshox Super Deluxe Ultimate. I’ll ride it for a while and see how I like it. So far frame and shock come out to 3.25kg(7.165lbs) this X2 is beefy. July 20, 2023, 05:41:48 PM |

Re: FM1001 / FM1156 - 135mm frame
If I had to guess, maybe the suggestion that an X2 wouldn’t fit came from a 1002 owner who had the air can tap the frame near the bottom of its longer stroke? The rocker arm tilts backward a fair bit in the last few millimeters on my 1002 which is probably responsible for that regressive dip (which I’ve never actually felt even on big jump landings) that the 1001 avoids by running 5mm less stroke. Yeah, prob ever so slight difference with the 1001. I tried to get full compression and full extension in the pics. A ton of room on a medium 1001. I also did verify with the serial the X2 is a 185x55 July 22, 2023, 10:45:25 AM |

japjoe7 Carbonda FM1001 build thread
First dual suspension bike. Been riding a hardtail for many years. Can't afford to throw down $4k-$6k in one shot so I'm leveraging AliExpress and using used parts. It's still expensive of course but a least I can build it up over the next 6 months. Here is my list of components so far. and attached Excel spreadsheet with cost. The build will be a little dynamic in that I will change some conponents choices depending on how I'm feeling and research. I still have a bunch of stuff to add to my list. Btw, I'm from Pennsylvania in the US. Price sheet is below labeled Bike Build 1.3.PDF (Edit: fixed format) Carbonda FM1001 Medium Carbonda Rear Axle Carbonda Headset Carbonda Rear Universal Derailleur Hanger Used: '22 Fox Float X2, 185x55, Trunnion Used: '23 Rockshox Lyrik Ultimate, 150mm, Shiny Black TSS 2K Epoxy Black Primer, Raven Super Colorshift Mid Coat, 2K Epoxy Gloss Top Coat FSA Headset NO. 55R 1.5"/558, Part #13000022000010 FSA 1.5' Steel ZS Crown Race Headset Spaces, Aluminum, 6pcs TOSEEK ZF-ONE Carbon Handlebar, 31.8x660mm Rise HASSNS Stem, 31.5x35mm, Purple and Oil Slick RYET Seatpost Clamp, 34.9mm, Purple and Black Kindshoch KS EXA seatpost dropper, 30.9x170mm OneUp Components Remote Dropper Lever V3, purple cushion, MMX clamp adapter Internal Cable Foam Damper Nukeproof Mega Alloy MTB Chain Stay Protector 290 Used: Sram GX Eagle AXS Derailleur Kit Used: Sram X01 Eagle XG-1295 Cassette. 52t Sram GX Eagle Carbon Crankset, 170mm, 32t Sram BB, BSA DUB 68mm/73mm Sram Pc-X01 Eagle 12 Speed Chain, 12 Speed, 126 Links Shimano M8100 Brake Set, Resin Shimano RT70 Rotors, Center Lock, 180mm SRAM Avid Matchmaker clamps and adapters, Left/Right RYET 29 Asymmetric Carbon Wheels, 28 hole, 33mm wide, 440g ZTTO M1 Boost Hubs, 28 Hole, 54T Ratchet, XD Light Pillar PSR TB2015, Triple Butted, 32 x 292mm/20 x 293mm/20 x 294mm Pillar PB14 Round Head Brass Nipples, Black, 12mm, 64pcs and Pillar PW8630 Nipple Washers, 50pcs Kenda Rush Pro or Boost Pro Tires, 29x2.4, SCT August 02, 2023, 10:27:45 AM |

Re: japjoe7 Carbonda FM1001 build thread
Brilliant - I am thinking about moving across to this frame - currently riding a Polygon Siskiu t7 that I have upgraded just about all components of, so I would be doing a frame swap. Oh yeah, I missed the brakes in there haha. They are Shimano M8100 with resin pads from Ali. Added to the list above. Yes, in USD. Also, fixed the PDF price sheet. August 03, 2023, 06:21:35 AM |

Re: japjoe7 Carbonda FM1001 build thread
Sounds like you're well in range with spoke lengths, see Ztto suggestions below for the M1 based on a 583mm ERD, Ryet says there ERD is 581, I measured 582. Did you order the rear hub delivered with the 36t stars? I went by RYET ERD of 581 with 28 Spoke, ZTTO M1 28 spoke and used DT Swiss Spoke calc. Pic above show what they suggest for spoke length. I’m getting differing opinions on spoke length which I expected. We’ll see if these Pillar spokes work when they arrive. I ordered the 54T ratchet. I know they have caused problems with others. I’m pretty light on my feet so we’ll see if they hold up. If not I’ll just swap them out for DT Swiss ratchet’s. August 08, 2023, 11:19:17 AM |

Re: Shimano groups on AliEx
I purchased Shimano Deore XT M8100 set a few weeks ago. I’ll report back when I receive mine. Received my brakes today. Took 13 days to arrive. Packaged well and looks great. Looks authentic to me. August 08, 2023, 12:53:11 PM |

Re: japjoe7 Carbonda FM1001 build thread
Received my used Sram Eagle GX-1295 yesterday. It's got some rust I need to clean up. Getting some other stuff delivered today. Will post pics later. Used Sram GX-1295 10-52 - Had to do a lot of work to get it clean. Teeth are very good but coating is sparse. I used rust remover overnight and it took off some of the coating on the steel rings. Bought it for $100usd, retail is $415usd, not sure if it’s still a good deal considering the condition. Would not recommend buying a used cassette. ZTTO M1 28 XD hubs - Very well made, feel very sturdy, internals look great too. We’ll see if the 54 tooth ratchets will hold up. Pillar Spokes - Triple butted, these spokes are THIN. Kinda worried how they’ll hold up. OneUp dropper remote - Bought new and not on Ali because I didn’t see any on Ali that looked aesthetically pleasing to me. Few more things getting delivered later today August 10, 2023, 10:30:46 AM |
