Hello everybody!

Thought I'd share my build process of a Yishunbike G095-D. This is my first go with gravel. I've mostly been riding XC MTB last few years and also been dipping my toes in road biking. The G095 will be used for both gravel and road riding using two different wheel sets.

Here we have a size 56 Yishunbike G095-D with integrated handlebar "HB068" in 400mm width and 110mm stem. Painted glossy black by YishunBike. I bought the frame second hand locally in unused condition. Therefore can't say to much about YishunBikes pre sales support, handling and shipping. However I've been in touch with Kitty from YishunBike for some after sales support like spareparts and another handlebar. Kitty's is great to deal with, excellent communication and fast replying.

Frame quality is great. I have nothing to complain about. Bearing seats in headset are beefy and look good. Bottom brackets seems to have been honed in QC. Mounting points for brakes seem to have been faced. They've also masked off important places before painting. Fork bearing seat and brake hose ports are smooth.

Weights, grams:
Frame: 1369 (including hanger, front deraillieur mount, seat post clamp)
Seat post: 167 (uncut, including hardware)
Handlebar: 393 (400x110mm, including bolts for computer mount)
Fork: 459
Thru axles: 64
Headset: 95 (compressionplug, bearing, spacers, covers)

Component Deals & Selection / Headset spacers
« on: January 19, 2024, 01:05:31 AM »
Looking for headset spacers for my Yishun G095D with HB068 handelbar.https://www.yishunbike.com/product/hb068/
The handlebar seems to be using a not so common system for spacers. Spacers can be provided from Yishun for a small cost but they need 30€ for postage which is a bit hefty..

I found this handlebar which seems to be using the same spacers. Spoke with the seller about buying just the spacers and could be possible.
However communicating with the seller was difficult.. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005246844345.html

Does anybody know where i can find spacers other than from yishun? Or maybe if the system is a copy of a big brand system?

Maintenance, Mechanics, & Tools / Bearing press from AliExpress
« on: November 30, 2023, 07:06:09 AM »
I'm in the market for a bearing press kit. Mostly for bottom brackets, wheel bearings and full suspension mtb frame bearings.

Has anybody bought any of the kits from AliEx? I've identified below options which seem to be good options. Any recommendations?

ZTTO (Looks to be a great kit. Liking the guidetubes and sleeves)

RRS (Cheap. No guide tubes or sleeves - necessary/usefull?)

AXI (In between above.. Has guide tubes but no sleeves.)

Component Deals & Selection / Recomendations 27.2mm carbon seatpost
« on: November 01, 2023, 04:28:05 AM »
Looking for a 27,2mm carbon seatpost. Good quality, lighter than an alloy seat post and maybe some compliance for added comfort.

Browsed AliExpress and found Elita One which seem like a good option. Any experiences from users here?
Otherwise alot of seat posts from the usual EC90, Toseek, OG-Evkin, Ullicyc..

Any recommendations or general advice?

Thanks

Looking to upgrade one of my older road bikes with a integrated handlebar, mostly for the looks and feel. Bike is only used for light training on flats and indoors traning in the winter. Wanted spec: 380 wide, 90 stem and "modern/compact" with short reach to bends.

Been looking at below items - any recommendations/warnings on theese or others?

TOSEEK TR5500

Seems like LightCarbon is working on a gravel frame with built in suspension in the frame.
Doesn't look to require a shock. Looks more maybe like trek iso coupling or similar solution.

What do you think? Would you buy? Could be a game changer for comfort and long distance riding and still affordable.

Does anybody have more info?

Hi everybody

Looking for frame recommendations. I've searched but maybe missed frames.
Love the looks of an aero frame with dropped seat stays, deep down tube and integrated routing with one-piece handlebar/stem. I don't mind the hassle of building/servicing.
However i'm not so flexibel so looking for above attributes in combination with short reach/high stack. Body stats: 186cm, 88cm inseam.
I've been trying on a borrowed bike with 590mm top tube, 401mm reach, 590mm stack, 15mm stemspacer and 80mm stem. Not perfect fit but doable, a bit shorter reach would be ideal if possible.

Findings:
Tantan/seraph TT-X34, size XL, TT 574, Reach 399, stack 584.
Shorter TT and reach and lower stack compared. Maybe doable with stemspacer and shortish stem/bar.

Velobuild
(not sure about the pinarello copy cat looks)
VBR218, size XXL, TT 575mm, reach 396, stack 585
Shorter TT and reach and lower stack compared. Maybe doable with stemspacer and shortish stem/bar.

Carbonda (not full on aero looks but still a viable option if no other option..)
CFR 1056, size L TT 560, reach 385, stack 589
CFR 1056, size XL, TT 580, reach 393, stack 610

SEKA (shorter and higher, great looks, bit priecy maybe for a china frame)
Exceed, size XL, TT 575, reach 394, stack 594

Any other options?

Haven't seen these mentioned here so thought I'd make an effort to get the discussion going.

The brand is ProX, company name "Xiamen ProX Carbon Technology Co., Ltd" and based in Xiamen City, China
They've been around since 2010 and focused on carbon bike rims since 2012. Since 2019 they also have a partnership with LightCarbon which is well known here.
More info: https://www.proxcarbon.com/about-us_d1

I found out about the company thru a Hambini review video where he was very positive about the wheels build quality also considering the price.

So I reached out to ProX to get a quote on a set of wheels, more specific the "R98" which is their OEM and cheaper rim brake model with in-house hubs. Tubeless, 50mm deep and 25mm wide, see complete spec below. These are available in different depths, widths, cassette body and also possible to upgrade to ceramic bearings. Most interesting is that they have a grooved brake track which isn't common at this price point.

Shortly after I received a e-mail from "Cassie" with a well written and detailed quote with all the necessary information. Very professional and not what I'm used to from dealing with other Chinese manufacturers, impressed!

98-PRV25-50C-1423 https://www.proxcarbon.com/prox-cheap-road-bike-wheels-r98-rim-brake-carbon-wheelset_p32.html
ProX R98 carbon 700C road Clincher wheelset. [rim brake]
Rims: PRV25-50C (50mm height, 25mm wide, tubeless ready). 20H/24H.
UD matte finish.  With high TG 3K grooved brake surface
Hubs: black, ProX R98, straight pull, Road hubs (5x100mm QR/5x130mm QR). For rim brake. Steel bearings
Spokes: Pillar 1423 spokes (black). With nipples (black).
Body: Shimano 11s

Price: USD329/pair
Shipping: USD150 (taxes and duty included)
Seems like a good set of wheels to a fair price and also comes with 2-year warranty.

Does anybody have experience with this brand and their wheels?

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Lightweight endurance road frame
« on: February 04, 2021, 03:30:01 AM »
Hi

Not been riding road bikes for some years but fingers are itching to build a road bike to put some miles on.
Maybe something similar to Canyon Endurance CF but carbon frame direct sales from china :)

Looking for suggestions for lightweight endurance road carbon frames. (at the moment not interested in an aero/tt-frame)
Good quality product, low weight and trustworthy seller are prioritized, low price is of course a bonus.

Thanks!
