Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts
The picture are quite blurred. Is it just paint scratches or it is bent ? Any further word on your BSA frame order? September 02, 2020, 12:27:37 PM |

Re: Stone or Pass Quest Chainrings - AliExpress
The Stone oval ring arrived today. My first impressions are that is is very decent for the money, though I haven't installed or ridden it yet. Observations (compared to the Absolute Black oval ring):

Re: 29er hardtail
Every Chinese hardtail I've built have had play between the headset and the frame. It is no longer an issue ones everything is tightened down because the conical interfaces centering everything. But the pre-load of the top cap is key before tightening the stem. I also lightly coat the bearings in waterproof silicon grease to prevent creaking/chirping. February 01, 2021, 11:30:41 AM |

Re: Groupset Stock (or lack of!)
I ordered rotors from 007. Fast shipping, legit product. Price was really decent.

Re: Carbonda FM909
I suppose I didn't consider the hassle of bearing service. Seems to me someone needs to invent a quick disconnect for brake lines that doesn't leak when disconnected. I've been fortunate with my headset bearings. It's nice and dry here in AZ and I've got 7 years/7-8k miles on mine. They're a bit lose now, but still fine for use. EDIT: The disconnects exist! But that price... https://22bicycles.com/products/brake-break-hydraulic-disconnect April 16, 2021, 08:41:28 PM |

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts
that's a hell of a nice build! Very light as well. I wonder if you can share the part list with weights. Must have cost a fortune... Ah, perhaps I was misleading. I have not built the bike yet. Still in the planning (and saving) stage. That is nearly the exact build I want to build when parts (and budget) become more available this year. Perhaps near the end of summer? Maybe I should order the brakes now? If they are too hard to get, I will run XTR instead. I and also waiting to learn a bit more about the FM909 as well before starting. April 29, 2021, 08:11:33 AM |

Re: Carbonda FM909
With no technical justification, my preference is the 936; I just like the lines of the frame better. More straight tubes and I just don't care for the pregnant cat belly down tube of the 909. Hard to decide which is better though when you factor in more than looks... Having 2 bottle holders in the Arizona desert where I ride would be preferred.

Re: New Lexon "spark"
are we hoping for too much from the Chinese hardware on this? Exactly my thinking. July 11, 2022, 08:28:41 PM |

Re: Carbonda FM909
I think the 52mm bearing on the upper race is to allow for cable routing through the headset?
