Problem multiplies when the customer gets antsie and the manufacturer starts to cut corners to get the product out the door.

Yeah that would suck.

My personal experience with the bigger manufacturers is they just dgaf. My frame has only ever been a blip in a huge production run of that frame in that size, so they just delay as long as they want/need. I'm not a priority, but the company ordering by the container load is. For me it's fine because I just expect that, but I get why others would be mega annoyed.

Thankfully it all comes good in the end.

Any brake & parts cleaner on sale from any local automotive store will work just fine.

Grease is better to just go bulk I reckon. A big tub of decent nlgi2. motorex2k is popular, i have a big tub i use that seems to last forever. I have a 1L thing of nlgi00 mobil shc007 I use in bearings.

Some people use generic mineral oil or even baby oil in their brakes with success. 1L of shimano mineral oil can be had on sale pretty cheap though.

Difference is that when somebody gives you an estimated delivery date because they just want to sell you a frame, it's not cool.

Yeah I know, I agree mate. Just saying it's the unfortunate reality and it's a bit shit.

Unfortunately you gotta go into the purchase with the crappy expectation that your frame will be delayed if it's part of a production run, and delayed even more if it needs paint.

34
That comes with buying a frame direct from manufacturer. If you get your frame on time, they either have it in stock or you got lucky. If it is delayed when it's being manufactured, that's normal.

Any reason why you want a wave profile?

Just get a set of 35mm gp5kas and call it a day.

Thanks. Found the wheel set you were talking about: https://wheelsfar.com/hyper-disc-26mmwide-dt-swiss-240-new-exp-built-tubeless-wheel-set-24h-24h-p0184.html

Maybe you can look at the wider 30mm version if that's something that tickles your fanceh

Oh man those look awesome. How have I never heard of these? Thanks!

How do they sell these?

Email them direct.

what width tyres do you like to run?

i always go with farsports wheels since i've never had a problem with them. for alpe d'huez you could go anything from 30-45mm deep depending on how specific to climbing you want them to be i reckon. i like the look of the farsports hyper wheels in 30, 40, 45mm deep for climbing, or a mixture of 2. maybe 40 front 45 rear sounds like a nice all round climbing oriented wheel that could complement your d67 nicely, perhaps a 30mm deep wheel might be too specific and leave a gap in your wheel sets.

prob get them for 800 shipped with a dt350 and whatever sapim cx spokes you want and sapim nips. maybe cx supers for a lighter wheel if that's what you're after.

lots of good options out there though...

Got multiple of those now, love them.

That doesn't look safe to me, regardless of whether it has worked for others or not. I'd cut it lower and use a guide to get it done properly. Sand the inside and outside edges once done.

Sometimes sufficient compression can be hard to get from a bung, even from a deda hss 70mm.

If that happens, just clamp down your stem using a quick clamp to get sufficient compression then go about it as normal.

Sometimes when slammed and you have hoses and cables that need to form an S bend to clear stem/bar interface before being accepted into a semi integrated stem, this can be an issue. Especially hard if the stem fits tight from the box and the c ring is particular strong.

What's the widest rim they have? I don't see any wide ones on their webpage

Their 45/50 wave rim with 26 internal is 34 external. That should be their widest. If you don't want wave, then 32 external is their widest external.
