Lightcarbon FS947 with a different front triangle design.

Looks like a lcfs947.
But still has the same issues: very short seatpost insertion length and probably no coil (w/o modification).
I was looking at lcfs947 but not being able to use 150+ mm dropper on M sized frame is a deal breaker.

Love my p9, what's the rear travel on this? Wonder will a coil work

160mm, and no.

Guess I don't go on this fourm often enough. It is exactly the same as the light carbon frame. I did some research. This frame could have been an absolutely amazin frame if the insersion and coil shock support is sovled.

The front triangle is different alright, looks better imo, pity a coil can't be put in though.

Not quite exactly the same; the front triangle is different and noticeably beefed up with nicer looking lines (the short head tube that rises a little above the top tube was always a strike against the 947, visually and for those with long legs who want a balanced bar height).

I wouldn’t be shocked to find out that the dropper insertion issue is at least somewhat improved in this version. But it’s probably still shorter than normal for a modern bike. Hard to say for sure until someone here builds one up.

Maybe I should back to p9 for my upcoming build. Ican quoted me same price for p10 as p9. However, seeing people have to grind down a section of coil shock on the 947, it is a big turn off for me. I am a coil fan boy, not able to run coils on this frame is no good. Dropper is not issue for me as I have short ish legs. 120mm drop will do.

Actually, I think this frame works better for people with longer legs. As they don't have the seatpost inserted as low as shorter people. Definitely I would like to see how this works out for a shorter rider. It sure is a great looking frame if it fits.

If I may ask, what did they quote you for the P10 frame?

I'm speaking to Melody at Ican about this frame at the moment.
They are only making these in a medium but from the numbers, it is more comparable to the large P9 I have (actually has slightly longer reach and is longer overall)
Also the linkage is completely different to the Lightcarbon one so there may or may not be some extra room for a coil shock in there.

I'm not sure the linkage is completely different, although hard to judge from pictures. In the classifieds there's a 947 frame for sale with a very similar looking one-piece linkage: https://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,3621.0.html
