Sick of paying about $40A every time I need to replace Shimano brake hoses does anyone any Aliexpress cheapies they have been happy with long term? After shimano compatible with banjo fitting on one end.
TIA

Lots of different hoses available in various colors with banjo fittings in silver, gold, or red. No feedback on any specific ones yet - a few variants are in transit so hopefully feedback soon.

So the automotive ones are the same size as bicycle type tubing?
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32749699604.html (stainless steel braid)

I guess if that is the case the only issue is weight difference.
I think they use stainless steel banjos as well, vs aluminum on the bike type.
The problem for me is SRAM road uses some proprietary %#)* banjo connector inside the shifter. So I have two options I can think of:
- buy two of these couplers https://www.ticycles.com/store-all/hydraulic-brake-line-coupler
- buy stock SRAM hose for $40x2 https://www.jensonusa.com/SRAM-Road-Hydraulic-Brake-Hose-Kit-Flat-Mount only available in black
jagwire has some sram kits but nothing that looks the same.
edit: looks like you have to get the right diameter hose specifically for shimano: https://bicycles.stackexchange.com/questions/66205/hydraulic-brake-hose-size-standards
which may be 2.1 or 2.3, but the ali listing says 2.0, maybe its ok if its a bit narrow.

I’m using BH90 equivalent hose from Kingstop Cycling World (https://a.aliexpress.com/_m0X1h41). Also got the hose connecting bolt, olives and pins from them.
All in all it works well. Once caveat when installing: you have to place the olive roughly in the right spot when you push the pin in. With the pin inserted, the olive won’t slide onto that part anymore. I don’t remember having that problem with genuine shimano bh90 hose.
