Title: Road Tubeless Sealant Question
Post by: 1Sigma on May 01, 2022, 04:14:01 PM
What size tires do you run, how much sealant do you use and why did you choose that amount?

I run 700x28, and use 40mL. Seems like the default low-end, if you want some level of puncture protection.
Wanted to try less, but seems like a regret waiting to happen

I use 30ml in a road tyre, 60ml in a (wider) gravel tyre. Although 30ml is probably on the low end, as you can lose a lot of sealant because of the high pressure.

For 28mm tires, I use 30ml of Orange regular sealant.

Depending on the season, add back 30ml after 3 or 4 months.
Checking with a 2 hex screwdriver, through the valve placed at the bottom.

Then my tires are in general worn out before a 3rd refill.
Coupled with Dynaplugs, it has been years without an unfixable flat.
