I was almost set on a velobuild frame but the recent threads on their customer service and wheel quality makes me rethink that.
A viable option seems to be ICAN, any of you have experience with their A22 frame?
Also with their customer service.

Thanks

Im doing my build with sram hydraulic calipers so Im after rotors with 1.8 mm thickness.
I want something like the SRAM Centerline X 140mm back and 160mm front. They only weigh 102g and 118g, really lightweight, but the price is quite high. +100 USD for both.
Ive been trying to find discs like them on aliexpress but to no success, any of you got advice for lightweight, reliable rotors with 1.8mm thickness, centerlock?

Thanks

(tell me if this is the wrong forum part and ill move the thread)

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Velobuild 177 vs 218
« on: June 17, 2022, 07:11:45 AM »
I've been lurking around the forum for a while and now I think it's time for me to finally build my budget dream bike.
Focus is aero but try to get sub 8 kg, the components I have in mind are:
Elitewheels Drive 50 wheels
Sram rival etap hydraulic 2x12 groupset (try to switch to second hand red crankset if I can find a good deal, and force cassette)

So to the frame, velobuild seems to have good quality to price ratio. I was set on the 177 but now I saw 218 was released. It's supposedly more aero but also heavier. Please help me decide, or suggest another not so heavy aero frame? It must have integrated cables in the handlebar/stem, for the good looks.

218
Pros: aero, looks (even though it kinda bothers me that it's a copy of dogma f), BSA bb
Cons: weight

177
Pros: weight, not so aero?
Cons: pressfit bb (it's a pita to change and in my experience it's prone to creaks)

Or maybe the 177 is as aero as the 218?

Hey guys, found this amazing forum yesterday and I turn to you for your advice.
I want to build my first road bike, I've been fiddling with bikes for many years so I know what I'm doing.

I want a frame with fully internal cable routing (no cables visible at the handlebar), disc brakes, and fairly aero-looking.
I can spend 5-600 USD on a frame.
My concerns with aliexpress frames is mainly safety, I dont mind if the frame starts to wear after a few years but I defenitly dont want it to crack in half, leaving me in a ditch!

I've had my eyes on this frame, anyone who bought it? I dont know if you can trust the reviews on ali because I know many sellers remove low rating reviews.

Here's a link the seller provided to the different paint options, it's a copy of Pinarello F12

Or if you know any other frame meeting my requirements, please link!

Thanks
