Re: LCFS 958 build help Hey, surprised you haven't gotten a reply. I'm not sure how much help I'll be as I'm just getting back into bikes but it's not too difficult. You might want to start with a budget to get component selection going in right direction. I've always liked shimano so a 1x12 Deore or SLX group would make for a great first bike. For suspension you could look at lightly used stuff from pinkbike classifieds. And once you get some more specific questions you will probably get more answers. Maybe see if you can find someone on YouTube with the frame and message them to see if they have a parts list?

I don't know what the difference in the frames is, but check out this thread: https://forums.mtbr.com/29er-bikes/light-carbon-fs937-downcountry-29er-build-1101497.html

Good luck and don't be too discouraged by the lack of replies. This place can get slow at times and I get the feeling that many of us are looking at these frames but haven't built one yet so can't give more detailed info but that's just an impression I get from reading here for a while.

Re: Groupset Stock (or lack of!)
Are you building for a road bike?

Yeah I have another ICAN A9 frame that i am building up. I am going to build it up with the full sensah/ZTTO groupset and some ELITE wheels. The full build should only cost me around £1400. I will compare the ride and quality to my r8020 A9 build and then sell on one of the bikes. The only thing that has me apprehensive is the braking quality of the cable actuated hydraulic brakes. I am going to use compressionless housing and I don't do any crazy mountain descents so I hope they will work for me. Once the bike is finished the sensah build will be about 500g lighter than the Ultegra build for nearly half the price! Aiming for 7.5kg fully integrated disc brake aero bike made up of 100% Chinese parts.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-066 Rim brake (not dead yet?) NERD ALERT post.  Still waiting on the wheels and as soon as they are in i will double check the fit for those waiting on whether a 28C or 30C tire will fit.  I did however get some total nerd parts in.  Some people love weight weenie parts and some don't, i am one who does.  feel free to ignore this post if you are not.

Elita one seat post came in, 135g which is 60g less than stock velobuild
SRACE 11-28t cassette 195g
Carbon bottle cage x2 - 12.8g vs 45g
titanium bolts a plenty!
Bottle bolts, seat binder bolts, jockey wheel bolts and brake pad and brake cable clamp bolts  30.1g vs 16g.

Are we there yet..... :D

OMG I know.  Not yet.  Tracking says landed in US on 3/1.  Not sure why USPS didn't drop everything to drive my package directly to my door with no stops or interruptions.  Hahahha.   Hopefully in the next few days.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-066 Rim brake (not dead yet?) Sorry to everyone as i still have no new wheels.  however i do have a set of old wheels and some calipers to measure the clearances.  i have installed a tireless wheel so it is easier to see and the results look.  there is a little over 41mm in width where the tire would be and 32mm from the rim to frame in the front (the tires height)  So i am pretty confident that i will be able to sneak 30mm tires in there.  28s will definitely fit
