But at around 2kg they are also very heavy. Can't you find anything on the second hand market? Plenty of people want to get rid of their heavy stock wheels...

sure, but in this case i have to build a cheap front mtb from a frame i had already, i prefer to use new parts for what is possible so 2kgs is more or less aligned to DT Swiss X1900 wheels and it's fine for a bikepacking/commuting/riverside bike, not looking for weight savings

elite wheels, carbon, for me it's 458€ + shipping + taxes, while alu wheel from ztto varies from 100 to 178€ depending on the hub (M1 is the most expensive).
as you can see there's a big difference in pricing.

Component Deals & Selection / mtb 29' alu wheels recommendations

hello everyone, i'm looking for a cheap/light/reliable (pick 2, at least) set of Aluminium wheels, mtb boost (12x148 rear, 15x110 front) tubeless ready is not mandatory but better if it's there nowadays, free wheel any kind but better if XD, i've seen some from ztto on Aliex but too much on the heavy side, the common usage is riverside, commuting, light XC'ing.
thanks for any kind advice,  8)

909 is getting fatter again. Now M is listed ad 1950g. Old google search shows 1750g, I guess it was at the beginning.

That is getting ridiculous, like the 936 became fatter with age. They still call it super light. I believe it’s to avoid crash replacements but it’s not a good policy

If Funn brand guard (amazon) mounted to it. Hope this helps you a bit.

Very well protected frame! Thanks Dan

Hi guys
Anyone with a good fitting chain guard to suggest? Still haven’t found one that fits well
Thx

lol  ;D
I did the same using the hardware from a spare elita seat post forgotten in a dark drawer in the garage, I did it because I thought it was the carbon seat making much noise, rather the guilty was the fox hardware. The weight saving it’s a nice consequence of course. I’ve also ordered black bolts from wanifa store (always my choice for titanium bolts) , 35 mm front and 40 mm rear.

The frame was bought in 21, the bike's mileage is 2000 km

Today I discovered several cracks. I wrote to carbonda, I hope they offer a replacement rear triangle. But the 2 year warranty has already expired, so they are no longer obligated to send a replacement.

Ouch I hope they will be back to you in any case because 2000 km are not enough to justify those cracks

Did you check that the diameter of your seat post is precisely 31.6mm ?

I haven’t, it’s a fox transfer SL therefore I can assume it’s ok!  ;D ;D
Anyway , at 7nm seems to be fixed. Thanks man

Guys do we know max torque value applicable to seat clamp? At 6nm my dropper keeps going down every time…carbon grease applied of course.
Thanks

Hi all so I’ve got my 936 in size M super light 120mm version. Happy with it, final weight should be around 10.2kg with bottle cage, protections and dropper post and pedals of course. SID ultimate for fork/shock, full sram x01 gear set, velosa wheel set

Pro:
Very good communication with carbonda / wing.
Frame quality and finiture are good even though I had to grind shock bushing a bit before insertion.
Painting looks strong (but has a small scratch on the rear brake mount).
Assembly was easy, BSA bb with crankset and derailleurs perfectly positioned and working fine.
Cable routing was also easy but I had to use a magnetic cable routing tool for the brake hose.
It’s not a clone!

Cons:
Delivery time took 2 full months.
Weight, frame at 2030 gr is not anymore super light as they claim it’s rather on the heavy side I think, if we compare with recent 120 mm competitors like spcycle, hongfu or tantan/seraph but I hope it will be strong and durable at least, Btw when this frame has been introduced weight declared was 1850grams (you can check on the internet archives) I don’t know what’s happened next.

You can reach it while riding, not practical but possible 8)

Yeah I can live with this, I also like the shock to be supportive “a la hard tail”  ;D let's see, painting is expected for next week
