It's very weird getting on my Tallboy LT after this.  Its at least 12+ lbs heavier, so squishy.  It felt like I had a flat tire when I first got on, I can feel the wasted energy when climbing.

Awesome looking bike, man!

I know it's one of those questions that's hard to answer bc the bikes are soooo different and specialize in different riding conditions.. BUT.. If you could have only one.. Which would it be?

^^ good question.. they look pretty close. Wonder what the real difference is between the two.

The rim shape/profile being the obvious difference. Increased strength and rigidity would be welcome updates to the design.

I'm definitely an Apple fan boy. They just had their big yearly release event, today: http://www.apple.com/live/2014-sept-event/

Iphone 6 looks awesome, but I'm not so certain about the watch. We'll see.

Fat Bikes / Re: Carbon Fatbike build

Looking good.

I personally haven't read anything about rubbing issues with this particular frame, but I could've missed it.. Keep as updated if you don't mind bc that's something I'd def want to be confirmed as an issue with specific frames or what.

Nice, but Ill pass on the white walls.

Best quote from my local ride forum "I think I want to see more pictures of this bike even more than I want to see Jenifer Lawrence's iphone photos. What a beauty!"

As much as I like the bike....

How about her posing on the bike? I think that's a compromise we can all live with!  ;D

Vendor Discussion & Reviews / Re: Wrong wheel set delivered
« on: August 28, 2014, 11:04:27 AM »
Do you have different answers when it's vendor A or vender B ? I guess ... I hope not.

For now it's not important, not yet.

Well no, I'd have the same answers regardless of who the vendor is. I was only pointing out that knowing who the vendor is and seeing how they respond to problems is valuable insight for other Chinertown members/lurkers.

That said, I respect that your're trying to give the vendor a chance to make it right before saying who it is. That's the right way to go about things imo. Like I said, was just pointing out that is the type of information people are wanting to hear about.

Hope you get it resolved. Personally, I wouldn't take option A or B.

Just to be clear, the mistake was 100% the fault of the vendor, correct? They're not disputing that?

Well considering this is the vendor review section, I think which vendor it is, is actually a very important piece of information.

The vendor should absolutely send you the wheels you ordered and pay to have the wrong ones shipped back. That is what any reputable real company would do, and the standards should be no different.

I'd def take a 256 over an AL superfly any day of the week.

Agreed. Even if the 256 was more expensive, I'd still prefer it over the AL superfly.

Not sure why we are worrying about weight.
Paint shouldn't be that much and would be how one 'decorates' their Chiner.
Most everybody has parts that could be replaced with something lighter....like XT brakes or seat or so on.

I agree. I was more asking if it would be something to worry about bc I wasn't really sure. I always read about how the rim/tire combo is the most important place to save weight, so I thought I'd be worth discussing, at least.

133
That's an insanely awesome idea.

I'd like to find out if it's possible to have it done direct from seller, as well. Also interested in possible weight penalty?

134
I wish I was reasonable enough to just buy this bike lol. But for some reason, I tend to over analyze every single component, and I'd end up swapping out about $5-700 worth of components before it was all said and done. Awesome deal though.

Anybody have pics of complete builds with weights yet?

I've only seen a few, but that was on the mtbr thread. I couldn't tell you exactly where on the thread they were but I'm pretty sure it was towards the end of it. Sorry, I guess that's not much help. Haven't see a Chinertown build thread utilizing that frame yet, but would be nice if somebody got one going. I also really like that frame.
