Re: Which gravel wheels? I've done 1600 Km so far on my Fiberin Gravel Wheelset 35mm hookless with novatec 411|12 hubs from AliExpress . They are 1330g. i choose this because i have fiberin also on my MTB ...more than 6K with no issues (1220g wheels).

Re: Gravel bike project I've just finished building up this frame (although it is the Tantan GR048 with integrated cables). The quality of the frame looks good, and the headset area is uniform. The bearings fit securely without being difficult to press in. The frame also looked good on the inside, very smooth with no crinkles visible. Assembly went smoothly, but routing a mechanical groupset through the handlebars would've been a nightmare; even with Di2 it was tight in some spots. The full build with bottle cages, computer mount and pedals is 9.1kg. With a lighter saddle and removing the many heavy screws in the frame, it should go down to around 8.9kg

I've only went on one ride, but first impressions are good. Due to the longer wheelbase, slack steering angle and low BB, it feels very planted and stable on gravel, especially on descends. On the road it almost feels too stable though, coming from a more CX based frame (GR029). Definitely less agile and slower turning. The frame itself feels stiff and efficient, and the handlebars feel much stiffer than my previous Deda Superzero stem.

Winspace G2 (Light Do it all bike) Here is my 99% completed Winspace g2. I have to redo the rear derailleur housing, I should have ran it all the way through to the back but didn't. Theyre not meant for fully internal mechanical routing, but it can be done.

This is my 4th "Chinese Carbon" frame set and it is by far the best (5th on the way). The build quality is as good as one can ask for. I had no issues building it, everything was faced nicely, no issue with the headset bearing seats. Which is the weak spot for "Chinese" frames, you can always just shove a BB in if it's not quite right. If the headset seats are done too poorly the frame is basically trash.
The paint finish is great, there's a few spots here and there that aren't the cleanest. However I can say the same for my Matte canyon and Evil frames. You can only be so picky before one is just being unreasonable.

Built this as a comfortable do it all bike, loved the round seat post, threaded BB, plenty of mounts and loads of tire clearance. It turned into a "lightweight" build half way through. Without sacrificing usability of the bike or going with super expensive components. Im very happy with the bike given its build quality, weight and price.

Total weight came out to 6.82kg with pedals, cages, and an ass saver to offset the fact that I didn't have bar tape. The build came out to ~$3100, there's a few hundred grams to be saved, but I would have to replace components with ones 3-6x the cost of the existing one. This is the perfect middle ground in my opinion.

Build List;
Winspace G2 Medium: $1080
Light Bicycle AR25 with Bitex Hubs:$864 (1080grams)
Elilee XXE Crankset 165mm: $320 (296grams!!)
Wolf Tooth 38t Chain Ring: $30, used (77grams)
Ltwoo GRT with ZRace brake Calipers: $305
Sram XPLR 12-71 Cassette: $100 New take off
Zitto Chain: $26
Onirii 160mm Rotors: $40/pair (102g)
Aliexpress Seatpost: $26 (136g)
EggBeater 1 Pedals with Titanium Spindles: $70 (240grams)
Ryet 3D Carbon Saddle (163grams)
Lexon/Ryet Gravel Bars: $124
Carbon Bottle Cages: $16/pair (16grams each)
Carbon Seatpost clamp:$15 (5grams)
Panaracer Gravel King Slick 37c: free (bike bin)
FSA Bottom Bracket: Free (bike bin)
TPU Gravel Tubes: $8
Bar Tape: $6
Titanium Bolts: $40

Rode it around the block and it felt great! Just need to redo the housing and finish my other bike (which has an interesting issue) before the other one arrives.

Re: Lightcarbon: New LCR017-D (or Yishun R1058-D) Clear coating over the color usually helps with durability which I wrongly assumed was included with the cost of painting

Re: Lightcarbon: New LCR017-D (or Yishun R1058-D) All modern paint jobs should be clear coated instead of just buffing the paint to a high gloss finish.

Wendy posted this lc17 on facebook with clear coat over just the raw carbon frame.https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1106790517314036&set=a.714845989841826

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets
It's definitely concerning to hear about the ER9/X RDs just dying. By any chance do you have a bar code on your RD? Joe from China Cycling said it should say the manufacturing date. Reading the first 6 digits, mine says 250123. If that's dd/mm/yy, that means I have an RD from early last year.  :(

I'm not sure I would take the ER9 groupset as my travel bike either. Luckily I have other mechanical bikes for travel. I'm just wondering if there's a way we can narrow down the problematic groupsets or if they're all ticking time bombs!  :-\

I have two ER9 sets, one with the RD phantom batt drain fault that I described a few pages back.  Both have serial numbers starting with 250123.  First set was bought in Nov 2023, second in Feb 2024.  More likely that these numbers are just product codes identifying it is an ER9 RD with the following numbers the actual serial number.  Unless someone actually owns an ER9 RD that has different first six numbers.

I'm hesitating installing the 2nd ER9 set on my gravel tourer due to reliability concerns.  When riding on the road near home in relatively good conditions, its not a big deal, but in a foreign country with limited access to LTWOO ERX/ER9 parts, its a big risk unless you carry a spare ER9 RD around on your travels.  With SRAM and Shimano, almost every decent bike shop will be able to provide the needed parts in a jiffy.

UPS
Yeah 35mm should fit without any problems

Cool. Thanks. I'll order one to see the quality then and do a simple build with a 105 I got laying around

Re: Lightcarbon: New LCR017-D (or Yishun R1058-D) Did you ask them already? @Jim can you confirm it there is a clearcoat or not?
