29er / Re: Build Log - Carbonda hard tail for daughter's birthday.

Love it! I recently built a Carbonda FM1001 for my wife. Your daughter is lucky!

If it's not too big for her: the Elita1 Specialized Power clone is an amazing deal. <120g for the saddle, padded, costs about $20-25. I also had good luck with Toseek carbon handlebars.

These impressed me enough that I'm using them on my road and gravel bikes: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805834827357.html

Pretty much an Aethos clone

That frame ticks all the boxes for me, but yeah does look like an Aethos. I guess you can only do so much with round tubes!

On a side note. I do have an older SPCycle aero frame with high seat stays, level top tube and less exposed seat post. It's not very comfortable on rough flats. The Aethos style design with the slack top tube allows more exposed seat post, which I would guess make the ride a bit more comfortable.

It looks a bit odd, why not use a flatter steerer top frame to stem interface thing and a stem with a more logical angle? Or the same stem if you can handle the drop.

I might slam it some more, but I haven't decided. I notice the -17° put me in a more snug cockpit position which I like for the downhill and also lowering my body position, but without stretching me out as much (like going with a longer stem).

Yes, and they already are selling a MTB style e-shifter with their universal electronic shifting system (that retrofits to mechanical derailleurs).

I'm kind of interested in how cross-comptaible all their wireless electronic gear is. For instance, is it possible to integrate their current mtb style shifter with the eGR or eR9/eRX system? For that matter, does an eGR shifter work with the eR9/eRX?

I know some people have bought eR9 and eGR at or around the same time. I'm really hoping someone tries swapping some of these parts and can report back.

I'm sure the electronic hardware behind the ER9/X and EGR are similar if not the same. The question is if the software will allow the ER9/X and EGR components to "talk" to each other? Also I'm curious if LTwoo's AE MTB electronic shift mechanism can talk to ER9/X and EGR shifters? If so you could create a mullet electronic setup using something like the GRX 820 RD and LTwoo wireless shifters or create a 2x mullet shifting something like 105 12 speed RD, while using an ER9/X FD + shifters.

I'll chime in and say also avoid Zoom rotors

I got Avids from AliExpress for $10/pair instead, they are great.

I paid 540.00 (total) for the carbon rim brake version.  TBH, it doesn’t feel like there is much in the way of carbon fiber on this groupset.  If your finding this in this in the 400-475.00 range I would say that is a deal.
