Wing & Carbonda
Taking the plunge into the world of Chinese carbon was interesting, to say the least. After much due diligence, I settled on the L FM936 & M FM1001 from Carbonda. I submitted my inquiry and Wing was quick to respond with pricing & general information as to how to conduct the transaction. Communication was superb throughout - including some potential "I might add 3rd, and 4th frame to the order" conversations - and I generally had a reply within 48-72 hours, if not sooner. Frames arrived well packed, and without any issues, shipping holds, etc. Upon inspecting the frames I found the FM1001 was a L, not the M that was ordered - an easy enough mix-up when pulling orders from the inventory, so I'm not pointing blame/fault at anyone, these things happen. I contacted Wing, who requested a few photos of the serial number and the small info tag on the inside of the headtube and corrected the mix-up almost immediately. A new M frame is being shipped out, and the L I currently have is repacked, and awaiting shipping tags. Wing said they would send me the tags, to ship to another US-based customer, as soon as they were ready. As someone who's worked in the cycling industry, in several different roles, for nearly 30 years, I have to say that this is an outstanding example of customer service! As my current role dictates, I have various bikes built up to showcase a range of products, but I try to use bikes that aren't from the "Big-3" or other high visibility brands. Thanks to my experience with Wing & Carbonda, I will definitely be using their frames for my future "showcase" builds! March 25, 2022, 01:06:35 PM |

Any more reports on either the Ullicyc or OG-Evkin bars? Thinking of ordering one, just wanted to see if there's any more feedback before pulling the trigger. A few months later, I'm still in one piece riding the OG-Evkin bar

If you follow chinese components you're probably aware of Joe's channel on youtube (China Cycling) and his upcoming venture Panda Podium. https://www.pandapodium.cc/coming-soon/ With rising prices on those Chinese components the last few years, what we do not need is a middleman to add some more to those prices... My LT268 looks quite similar to the Hygge you're considering. I'm super happy with it. I'm a tad shorter, a tad heavier, and i can't sprint beyond 1000W, so for all intended purposes, i suck, but i'm extremely happy with the bike. i bought the cockpit from Airwolf, it's super stiff (allegedly it's full T1000). I got a medium and run a 36cmx80mm cockpit. The geometry is relatively relaxed, which helps because i have long legs and a short torso, so i dont have to fold in 2 to touch the bars. When I sprint (which means 800-100W on a good day, mind you), the only things i feel flexing are the tyres (I run 30 & 32C) & the spokes (I went with steel for comfort, was afraid the bike would rattle my teeth with carbon everything). Would be awesome if you got the same frame and bars, would love to hear your thoughts on ride quality. They do custom painting, i just chose glossy finish and got decals cut locally (fancy car vinyl). It works remarkably well & i can change my mind every week if i want. March 21, 2024, 08:54:57 AM |

@Wrighty, could you share your impressions of the carbon layup within the frame, as well as the stiffness of both the fork and rear triangle? I haven't assembled mine yet, and I'm debating whether to proceed or reconsider. I might be overly cautious, but I've noticed some flex in the fork (I'm 80kg, so not particularly heavy), and while I understand an axle will reinforce it, it's still a concern. Additionally, I've observed numerous sharp edges and creases within the frame, which doesn't inspire confidence. Hey so I don’t know if you’ve seen my posts in this thread earlier on but this frame is my first ever carbon frame on a bike so I literally have no reference to compare to sadly. What I can tell you is that when I started riding this bike I was around 115KG and today I am 96KG and the bike feels pretty stiff to me, especially the back end of it and bottom bracket. The carbon layup isn’t bad, but isn’t outstanding either - it’s ok. There were some sharp bits inside especially in the rear triangle but for a frame that was £450 I wasn’t expecting much. Other than that issue free, I did have the seatpost slipping at the start and have to really tighten that thing down but it doesn’t move now. Positive experience for me, I would love to ride an SL7 to compare but haven’t had the opportunity to ride anything else yet. My current plans are to keep riding this until I get bored or it breaks!
