Re: icanbikes S24 - does anyne has info on this? Ok got some details on it. They renamed it the s5 and it is available as pre-order only for now. It'll be ready by Feb/March.

It looks like it a 100m travel frame with 67 degrees ha and 77 degrees sta. Weight for frame only is about 2kg. It'll fit 2 water bottles.

Re: Lightcarbon LCFS937 Build Thanks Philipp.

I have had the bike for a couple of months now and ride 2-4 times a week. I love it, its fantastic and I am a better rider with this bike than with my "old" Merida One-Twenty 800. I climb better, i descend better, I fell more safe and take on challenges I did not before.

The "Akkebike" lettering is 343*40 mm.

The dropper post is a problem, I first tried a 170 mm but it was to long so now I have a 125 mm dropper with a total length of 420 mm and that works well.

https://www.bikester.se/red-cycling-products-remote-dropper-teleskop-sattelstutze-316-mm-M724376.html

I have built 3 "Akkebikes"  so now the whole family has one each. This is really fun so i am planning another build, the more Enduro-oriented LSFS 947.

Best regards

Stefan

Re: Lightcarbon LCFS937 Build FYI guys, I was able to fit a 170mm PNW dropper post (https://www.pnwcomponents.com/collections/shop-all-droppers/products/loam-dropper-post) in my XL frame with plenty of clearance and slammed all the way down. This particular dropper can be shimmed all the way down to 150mm so it could work well for this frame in different sizes.

My OG-Evkin CF-052 (FM699) build w/ 60% AliExpress parts Hey guys!
I want to show you my OG-Evkin CF-052.
Last year the idea of getting a MTB sparked up, living in an area with lots of nice woods. Checking the used bike market wasn't very satisfying, and neither were the <800€ new bike options. After seeing how cheap carbon hardtail frames are (especially compared to road bike frames) it was obvious to me that I had to build up a MTB myself.
My choice was the OG-Evkin CF-052 frame, because it's quite popular in the german forums.

The goal for the initial build was to keep it around 10kg and below 1000€. My excel spreadsheet came out at 10176g, but that was without the paint, pedals and some small stuff like the headset or cable outers.
Measured on my bathroom scales the bike weighs 10.8kg now, with some very basic pedals.
I also missed the financial goal. I had spend 997€ when I found out that the BB supplied with the crankset was BSA only, and not working with my BB92 frame. After a BB92 and some small parts I'm now at ~1015€.

Now to the specsheet

Frame: OG-Evkin CF-052 in size L + OG-Evkin QR-02 axle
Paint: Mini C15 Jungle Green with some extra gold pearls
BB: Threaded ZTTO BB92
Fork: Rockshox Reba RL A6 110mm w/ Rockshox Maxle (used from Ebay)
Wheelset: "Roval"? Non-Boost 2060g 21mm wide (used from Ebay)
Front tire: Continental CrossKing 2.3 RS
Rear tire: Continental Raceking 2.2 RS
Tubes: Schwalbe SV 19A Extralight
Stem: ZTTO 60mm 7°
Handlebar: ZTTO XM 720mm Aluminium
Grips: Procraft Diamond Pro
Crankset: Fovno Ghost 175mm 36T
Groupset: LTWOO AX12
Cassette: ZTTO 12speed 11-50
Chain: KMC X12
Seatpost: Elita One but it broke on the first ride (Picture), so I ordered a Toseek now, with a better seat clamp
Saddle: SSM Aspide Superleggara AliExpress clone, but that broke on the second ride, probably damaged when the seatpost broke (Picture
 2  3)
Pedals: Some very basic Marwi Union cage pedals (I ordered some En-Lee platform pedals)
Brakes: Shimano Deore BR-M6100
Brake discs: "Avid G3" 160mm from AliExpress
Bottle cages: 16g Carbon ones from AliExpress

Short term upgrades will be a new seat post and pedals, which I've already ordered. I also need a new saddle, but I'm pretty unsure which one to get.

And long term upgrades are:
- Carbon wheelset
- Going tubeless
- Fully integrated carbon handlebar
- And maybe a dropper post

Re: Syncros Fraser iC SL / Scott Spark 900 handelbar 90$ instead of 399$ OG-Evkin that make really fine carbon components.

Have just released a new handlebar that looks great:

Re: Airwolf / YFM026 boost / santa cruz highball
160mm or 180mm rear disc? complete bike weight?

My frame has been delayed until 1/23, but I'll post photos when it arrives.
The frameset came today, and was well protected for shipping.

I'll have more time to fiddle with it tomorrow, but here it is so far.

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts Got mine built. Came in about 25.5 lbs, 11.6 kg.

Build basics- large SL frame, Fox Float DPS, 120 Sid Ultimate, BTLOS 27 w/ 240 EXP, Giant carbon bars, Uno stem, Race Face Turbine Dropper,  XTR shifter, derailer and cassette,  MT900 cranks, Chiner seat and pedals, Maxxis Ardent.

Initial Impressions
HTA measures about 66.5 degrees, about 75 for the STA
Bottom bracket is low, about 3/4" lower than my Evil Following MB, not hitting my pedals much, but definitely aware
Rides great, climbs like a mountain goat and feels about the same as the Following going down
Very flickable and playful
Really fun ride

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts Was shipped on the 3rd and arrived at the 5th - impressive Job - THANKS Adam  ;)

Almost done by now - just some fidling with the cables and installing the shock bushings once they arrive ... >:(

Never was thought to be a light weight so YES I am sure happy with the outcome - the rest will be done in the "shut up and ride" mode  8)
