Title: broke CS-092-SL fork and xmcarbonspeed gone?
Post by: toolong on July 19, 2018, 09:41:41 PM
Hi Guys,
I need a new fork :(

I built up CS-092-SL for a friend in 2016. This week the fork broke under trivial stopping load. Would love to buy a replacement fork (and hope it was a one off defect), but I can't get peter to reply to my emails(been 3 days). Usually these guys are super-responsive. All their posts seem to stop in summer of 2017. Anyone bought anything from xmcarbonspeed.com in 2018?

This fork snapped under supposedly very moderate speed under 180-200lb rider who borrowed the bike and tried stopping rapidly.

I'm pretty sure other forks wont fit this frame. Suggestions on what to do?

Your friend was lucky to not get hurt.
Did you know if there was any weight limit mention for the bike ?

Do not worry about delays, sometimes there are holidays.

carbonaza or anyone else  do you happen to have http://www.carbonda.com/road-frames/73.html ? This looks pretty damn similar to cs-092-sl. The fork might fit

Still no news from Peter ?

Yes, they will be compatible as they are both Tapered( kind of conic at 1-1/8" top to 1-1/2" bottom )
And seems to acomodate 700c*28mm tires, you can ask this to Carbonda.

It looks the same as my Carbonda gravel fork, that looks sturdy.
I did hit it hard quite a few times.

Yes, I did. Bought 4 rims. without a problem and quick shipment.

As you mention, he's super-responsive. I think there's a good reason why he's not responding as quick as usual.
I just asked him to take a look at this topic. He'll respond for sure. Please be patient.
