Hi,
New guy here.
I've desperately been looking for info about a Lexon frame that lucks very much lika a Scott Spark but with a none trunnion shock mount.
This frame doesn't seem to have any official name but I have seen it referred to as "Model Number: 258" in some places. Mainly on Alibaba:
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/LEXON-Mountain-Bicycle-Frame-No-Logo_1600146495170.html?spm=a2700.wholesale.deiletai6.29.771912ba4f8MzK&bypass=true (https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/LEXON-Mountain-Bicycle-Frame-No-Logo_1600146495170.html?spm=a2700.wholesale.deiletai6.29.771912ba4f8MzK&bypass=true)
Geometry is very similar to the Scott:

VS.

Lexon is a BKR brand but their page doesn't seem to have been updated in ages and the frame is not on there:
http://www.bkrbicycle.com/article.php?AId=1 (http://www.bkrbicycle.com/article.php?AId=1)
The frame does seem to be a unik variant even if it's very close looking to other clones like the Lightcarbon LCFS911 or Tideace FM-XC029.
Does anyone here have any experience with this model? I haven't been able to find any tests or reviews anywhere.
It looks like a good deal.
It's sold in a bunch of palaces but here are a few examples:

Any recommendations on where to buy (or not to buy) is highly appreciated. :)

That frame is the same as a hongfu fm258. There is plenty written on it here and on mtbr. I have a similar frame (fm058) which is very very similar, just a different top tube seat tube junction and non-boost, but otherwise identical geometry. It was also sold through pro-mance, and sissypants wrote up a fair bit of details out his - check out his thread on here. I am still riding mine, and am still super happy with it, have had great success XC racing on it.
Those other frames you mention are not the same frame.

Great!!!
This was exactly the information I was looking for! :)
My googleing skills apparently aren't up to par... ::)
Many thanks! ;D
-
Hi, im also new here, i've bought this frame after some long research and waiting for it to be delivered for my next project. This is the very same frame used in Torpado Matador.

-
Do you have some more details about the shock ?
-
Not sure what you want to know specific.
This is my first fully so i can't really compare. But i'm happy with it.
DNM shock 165*38mm
275 max psi.
Any questions let me know
-
@adbosch: Did you have to pay additional taxes, or is the statement from Lexon correct that there will be no additional charges? (assumption based on your alias, your from The Netherlands as well? :))
Another question: Does the frame fit 2.35 tires as well?
And great to see the builds, looks really nice!
-
@Flummox: Yes i paid taxes (38,77 euro. ) It was shipped to LIege line hall and after that it went to Den Haag Imec . Imec is a department of Postnl, they arrange the custom clearance and charged me the 38,77 Euro. The package staid there for a week.
I found some info on the site of hong-fu about the tires: Suitable tire 148*2.3" (boost)
But i will ask lexon to be sure.
-
Thanks @adbosch! Lexon confirmed that 2.35 is the maximum width supported. Hwpaints did a check on his orange hong fu monster and that makes it double confirmed. Wider than 2.35 wont fit, that leaves too little clearance.
-
I am also looking to get one of these, can you tell me which parts of the frame detailing is painted? I have heard that some of it is stick on decals!
How is the DNM Shock? There are some reviews that it's pretty good, great value for money. I'm thinking I will go for the Rockshox option though.
Looks really slick I have to say, I am planning to get groupset off AliExpress too (Shimano XT) My road bike I also got brakes and Crankset Shimano Ultegra and it's good stuff.
Cheers
-
I placed my order for the Titan frame with the Rockshox shock yesterday.
Really looking forward to receiving it, but it will probably take another 4 to 5 weeks. ;)

Hey @adbosch, that frame looks amazing!
I'm also looking to buy from The Netherlands, I guess you used Aliexpress standard shipping since it came so fast and sellers choice shipping should have been tax free?
And for the people looking for cheap shocks for this frame, there's also the SR Suntour Raidon LO, around the same price as the DNM, but 38 mm travel instead of 35 mm, though not adjustable.
Still undecided between this Lexon and the Seraph FM027 which is €140 cheaper...
-
@ Marcel
Lexon raised there price with almost 200,- euro. Crazy prices now. Even the shipping costs went from 51,- to the Netherlands to 137,-
I paid 669 including dnm shock and shippind costs, now i want to order another one and i have to pay 856,-
I think it is overpriced at the moment and will look for another brand/frame
Any suggestion are welcome
-
@adbosch:
I'm pretty sure that's just the shipping price that got raised.
Since you paid tax and got it so fast, you probably chose the Aliexpress standard shipping, this option is now €200!
That's why I was so confused when I saw how fast you got the frame with how little you paid.
See screenshot for other frames around this price point, prices are including tax-free slow shipping to The Netherlands, but only the Seraph and BXT come close to what you originally paid for your Lexon.
Edit: Oh no wait, your graphite blue frame with DNM and standard shipping is now EUR 919!
-
@MArcel
Hi Marcel,
I didn't chose for Aliexpress standard shipping ( Wich is now 200,-)
I paid 618,- for the frame with dnm shock and 51,- for seller's choice shipping. total 669,-
Now i have to pay 718,- for the frame with shock and 137,- for seller's choice shipping. total 855,-
It took about a month before i received the frame wile Lexon told me it was in stock.
They send the frame two weeks after payment.
-
Yeah I saw the same with the Trifox sdy20 frame I've ordered 7 week back, its 120 euro's more expensive atm.
I think it's still a very nice frame and ordered it. The shipping costs were my biggest doubt, but I hear everywhere that there is an enormous demand for shipping so I don't think that will be resolved any time soon.
What I also noticed that there was a 38 euro variance between the different payment methods (iDeal, PayPal & Mastercard). In my case Mastercard used the latest exchange rates, which was beneficial as the rates were in favour of the Euro past weekend. Might also be worth validating, 5 minutes well spend in my case. ;)
-
I've ordered mine to Portugal using XDB Shipping with no taxes , taxes prepaid or whatever you wanna call it. Arrived through UPS with no Customs.

-
Have anyone here measured the wheelbase on the LEXON build?
-
nope but i can measure my 17.5" M size if you want...its 1124 mm
-
This weekend i've finished my first DIY Project...... My NMP Tattoo limited Edition 8)...
It's Mettalic Black with Hologram Glitter and Gold Lettering, logos and Graphics with a Gloss Finish. This took me about a little more than one month to prepare, paint and build.
Here are some photos of the finished build..

Do you know the weight of the frame? It is one of my options...
-
Just got my frame delivered to The Netherlands via XDB, took around 2 months, tax free though.
My first fully, carbon and no namebrand frame, finish isn't perfect but at least it's all straight and solid.
Keep in mind the only brake rotor size that fits the rear is 160mm.
And a 34T chainring fits easily, probably would fit 36T as well.
-
Gz Marcell96, looks great! My frame is now close to Lodz, train is taking ages to get to The Netherlands. :o
Can't wait to start my own build, but pics like these keep the spirit up!
Hope it rides as well as it looks! Enjoy!

Maybe a bit unrelated, but does anyone know what happened to http://www.xmxdb.com/en/track.asp (http://www.xmxdb.com/en/track.asp)?
The website stopped responding about a week ago, I received this url with the order of my frame to track the shipping status. All the way from China to Poland the updates came regularly-ish, but since about a week the website is not loading at all anymore. I cannot find any information about a move, but for a technical issue it's taking way too long. :o

How long did it take for you item to arrive? My XDB parcel has been stuck on ‘In Transit to Destination’ for over a week. Thanks in advance
-
It took about 8 weeks for the frame to arrive per train. The build has been completed and I've already made quite a few enjoyable rides! :) I hope yours has also arrived Jnewman!
See attached my build.

Nice bike Flummox, The blue makes it pop.
How much does it weigh?
I am thinking of the same frame. How does it feel compared to other xc bike you have ridden?
Thanks,
Christian

Hello friends, i'm building a bike with a similiar hong fu frame, wich uses a 22.2mm bushing.
I bought a Dt Swiss Shock and he cames with the exactly same size of bushing, BUT they are made from alloy, and I don't know if they can put directly on carbon or do I need a NYLON/tecnil spacer to avoid the alloy bush touch the frame.
Can someone help me?

You should be fine with either type of bushing, although DU has some friction advantages.
I’d try the metal bushing and see how it feels, then consider an RWS roller bearing if you want more small bump plushness.
-
Can someone tell me how many NM should I put on shock bolts?
-
How about some feedback and reviews please...

Mine is one year old with almost 4000km of beating.....Still going very very strong, with a new pair of Fiberin 1200g wheels and 2.35 Tyres....What a horse, every day gets better. Just ordered a Sigeyi AXO Powermeter to go with it....Tired of being in the dark on the MTB (no Power numbers) :o 8)

In a few months I will buy this painting because I am waiting for the dollar exchange rate to improve.
In the meantime, I would like to ask those who already have this frame for some tips and a review of it.
I already apologize because I'm using Google to translate
