Title: Recomendations 27.2mm carbon seatpost
Post by: ENEP on November 01, 2023, 04:28:05 AM
Looking for a 27,2mm carbon seatpost. Good quality, lighter than an alloy seat post and maybe some compliance for added comfort.

Browsed AliExpress and found Elita One which seem like a good option. Any experiences from users here?
Otherwise alot of seat posts from the usual EC90, Toseek, OG-Evkin, Ullicyc..

Any recommendations or general advice?

Thanks

Elita One are basically the undisputed kings for a lightweight, good value post. I think most people on here have used them. I've had a few and they've all been great considering you can pay A LOT more for other big name branded ones for a similar weight.

I run Elita One seatposts too but ive read about many people overtorquing and cracking them and my friend has done this too.

That said, ive had two that have had no problems at all for 1-2 years each. The weight you get for the price is indeed great.

i just personally would not recommend this seatpost to anyone that doesnt have/want to use a torque wrench

Elita One it is then! I have a torque wrench so no problems there  :)

Another vote for Elita One here. My 27.2mm 0 offset 250mm post ended up being something pretty stupidly light like 140g.

At the risk of not being original: Elita one with the 245x143 carbon saddle :)

I also use the Elita One seatpost since 2 years and about 10000km on my road bike without any problems.

I just received an Elita One 27.2 350mm carbon seatpost. Upon attempting installation it cracked at 5NM. It seems tightening compressed the post instead of tightening the collar.

Additionally, the two bolts provided were either different sizes or one was defective. One accepted a 4mm allen key perfectly, while the other didn't at all - it was either deformed or had something like a 3.5mm head, despite the diameter and thread pitch being identical to the other (longer) bolt.

Did you buy it directly from them on Ali? If so, try contacting them. If it's clearly a defect, they will replace it for you.

Did anyone ride it with a bikebacking bag attached to it and saddle? Should it hold that too?

I just bought the SP012 Seatpost from OG Evkin. The problem is that my saddle is slipping. Even with carbon paste 8Nm do not secure the saddle. Does anyone have an idea what to do?

What Carbon Paste are you using, the cheap one from Ali is rubbish. I had that one also and hat issues with slipping seatpost. Bought a better and a bit more expensive one from Amazon and no more problems

I've got Hanseline (German brand) from my local bike shop, but I suspect it is rubbish. Just ordered the one from finish line and will try again.

Can someone send me a link to their official AliExpress store ? Seems like there are a number of stores using a similar name.

The standard elita one seatpost clamp is the worst. Feels like your breaking it when torquing it to spec. If you tighten one bolt too much before the other the seat angle will change. Then youll get slipping after 200 miles. Almost a deal breaker for me.

I did buy a V shaped flexing seatpost, the Elita One Master. It has the best seatpost bolt ive ever used so far. The dampening really isn't a game changer tbh but is noticeable. I am sort of worried about the durability, probably wouldnt recommend to heavy
