Title: Does "Set-front" 27.2 Seatpost exist?
Post by: Velovelo on November 01, 2023, 11:10:22 PM

Hi guys!

I want to ask if anyone has experience with buying or custom making a "set-front" seat post.
I need to reduce the effective top tube / reach for an indoor trainer frame setup.

I have tried to rotate the usual setback seat post to face forward but the saddle will face upwards and can never get leveled horizontally.

I'll probably go to a local welding shop to modify my alloy seatpost if I can't find any online to buy.

Many thanks for any suggestions on how to get a seat post with "set front" seat clamping feature.

Thanks!

There you go, you gain around 20mm

(In my case, I use it following my bike fit advice)

@mirphak

Any thoughts about those six spoke wheels from Elite? Apparently they are making a road version and I "may" be able to test out a set.

They look like they would be super stiff, but maybe they are better at soaking up bumps and vibrations?

Not worth it to be honest. They are too damn rigid. So stiff that they make the frame creak, they develop play around the axles and bearings, etc. They look cool, but honestly better to invest the money in some good wheels with a dtswiss hub
