Title: chinese rear gravel derailleur compatibility
Post by: gf on February 26, 2024, 04:20:42 AM
Hello, I am considering to build a low cost 1x11 gravel from open mold frame.
For the groupset I am looking for good offers on Shimnao grx shifter/lever, so I would like to ask if someone know the compatibility of any chinese rear derailleur 11speed with grx lever.
Thanks

Sorry for not answering the question but why not just go Shimano? The RDs are pretty cheap nowadays with all the discounts going on and if you're spending for Shimano shifters you may as well get the full experience.

An L-Twoo GR9 derailleur on its own is pretty much the same price as a Shimano GRX 812, and the Shimano is much better.

Only because if I want to use a cassette with more than 42t with grx 11s is not possible; I see for example sensah srx pro fits up to 52t but it should be compatible with sram shifter, not shimano

You can make this mod to the GRX 11s derailleur by using an XT cage to make it shift an 11-51 Shimano 11s MTB cassette:

Makes sense, you also have the option of modding GRX810.

YT links dont work for some reason but search for: It Works!! // The $127 Shimano GRX Mullet Upgrade on youtube

If you don't need a giant cassette, there is no reason to go for a Chinese derailleur. They will be a (huge) step backwards compared to Sram / Shimano.
Just look for used parts if you want to save some money.

Crap. If I had known about this, I probably wouldn't have gone with Ltwoo. Its not terrible, but having mainstream parts anyone can work on is a plus.

Is the Ltwoo rear derailleur compatible with shimano road/gravel shifter lever?

I’ve had great performance from the knockoff Ingrid derailleurs and matching cranks, shifted by a Sensah 1x11 shifter.

The LTwoo GR9 RD is on sale right now for less than $27 USD. I'd definitely give that a shot paired to a nice set of Shimano shifters or even Sensah Team Pro shifters if on the cheap.
