I bet you guys have good weather for mountain biking in California.
-
Carbon Dude,
I can't think of a single place in the world, and I have been to most of it, that has more diversity of landscape(mountain, desert, beach, flats, hills) with nicer weather.
I can literally ride every day of the year, and in any environment that I desire. And if I want to combine all of them during a ride, I can do that as well!
-
Well guys in two weeks I go from to southern, humid Hot Springs, Arkansas to northern, cold, snowy Billings, Montana. Big change.
Anybody ever ridden the area? I gotta admit.. I'm a little hesitant to go running off into some Montana mountains. I mean.. grizzly bears? Hell no. I want nothing to do with them. Maybe I'm being paranoid, and feel free to call me out, but as general rule of thumb in life I want to make 100% sure that being eaten alive is not the way I go out! It is for this reason I avoid the open ocean. That being said.. seems an absolute shame to miss out on all the beautiful mountain scenery.
-
SN, moving or just visiting?
-
Hey CD.. moving!
-
Good luck and stay warm. We once moved from a warm climate (Florida) to a cold climate (New Hampshire), we learned we did not like the cold and the snow. Chalked it up to a learning experience. Here's to hoping you do a better job of keeping warm and enjoying your new latitude. You are really going to need some fatter tires now!

Thanks! Yeah it wasn't really a decision to go to that part of the country.. just so happens to be where the opportunity presented to me is. I'm not under some delusion that I'm headed to a winter wonderland and I'm going to love the snow and cold lol. We'll see, I guess.
And yeah.. I guess you have a pretty good point that I didn't really think of.. Now I'll have an actual "valid" reason to get a 29+ frame!

thank you! Small country but you find everything from sea to mountains! My city is near Alps and there is where I usually ride, but can reach Finale Ligure in less than 2 hours

A bit more for me, about 4 hours to Finale Ligure, still not too bad ;)
That was the view from my apartment, again... not too bad

So when can my wife and I come visit you from the states? We need to get away from the recent US politics!
-
Nice to see all these people from all over the world having one thing in common. Bikes. :)
Epohle15 --> Corona, CA (USA)

Count us in too! Both the politics and hate are getting out of control. We are taking the kids to Stechelberg Switzerland this July and it would be nice if we didn't have to go back.
-
USA is still a very nice country. One man is not USA. I get colleagues based in USA coming from all over the world, many seeking a better place for their kids to grow. China, Iran, Irak, India... yes USA is still a very nice place and I love my american colleagues. This won't change.

Welcome, and nice view!
I'll be in Cannobio for a week in October. Any good spots to rent a bike and take a ride on dirt? Plan on exploring the mountains and hiking but pedaling some would be nice.
