Looks very similar to my TanTan X38 but with a different fork and saddle mount clamp. Not sure if that's good or bad because I didn't really enjoy the way that frameset rode.

They also have the Hygge Model S frame. My guess would be they make the frames and Hygge is a reseller with better paint jobs.

The overall outline looks the same, but I like the intersection fork/downtube better on the Scott Foil or X38. On the other hand, this seatpost/sadleclamp looks better than on the X38.

Also, you say you didn't like the ride of the X38. I remember you posting (somewhere) that you were gonna give the X38 a second chance, because I think you took it apart quite soon because you needed the groupset for another build. Still planning a second build of the X38?

(I'm asking because it's high on my rader. Can't really decide between Ican A40, the TanTan X30 of the Velobuild VB-268.... I think the last has the most positive reviews, but I like the looks of the other better)

fwiw, i built 2 winow and 2 long tengs. especially around the BB area, the long teng had more consistent tolerances, as both BB entered with the same constant force, whereas the winow was less consistent. i have ridden my LT a lot, and only c.200km one of the winows, but honestly with my eyes closed i dont think i can tell them apart, felt nice, fast and stiff, so i guess i can recommend winow. Terry isn't the best at replying to emails either, but he does end up replying.
that new frame looks cool.

Was it a press fit BB ? Here is T47.

Correct, press fit. Unusual format too. Ofc w T47 you shouldn't have an issue, but my point is around finish quality, attention to detail and so on. With winow I wouldn't expect too much. It's probably good enough though. Whether it's worth paying more for another brand for perceived extra peace of mind is going to be subjective.

1500 for frame alone is a lot. because that fork looks ginormous so it will weigh a lot as well.
will probably be amazing at 300W in a straight line though.

I have ordered this frame in a Size small. I will post frame, fork, seatpost weights when I get it. Will also post pics of the build.

This will be my crit bike so not too fussed about weight. I actually like a bit more material around BB, headtube, seatstays for stiffness.

I have an 11 speed Di2 groupset to go on. 54/40 chain rings. Really looking forward to seeing how this build goes.

Kind Regards,

Mikey.

that's pretty tank-ish. Probably not any heavier than the old Madone, though, and that's the only bike i've seen ridden alongside me that felt notably faster than mine (i dont claim to have a 100 friends each with a different frame either).

If it's that heavy and has that much carbon, it also raises the question of ride quality, might ride like a plank. Trace Velo said the systemsix is the least comfortable bike he's ridden, and cannondale's layup skills ought to be better than winow's.

Vissually, this is my dream bike. I would like to order two of them. Saying that, 1500 grams, really??? In the end though, if it handles well and can snap around a corner in a crit than I could live with the extra weight. If there is any evidence it inspires confidence in corners and very fast group rides I would hit the button. Anybody out there who can nudge me toward the order button?
Title: Re: New Frame Winow Sports WR054

I'm waiting on this frame matts, so will update when I know more. I have had a look and think I can get this built up with 11 speed Di2, 55mm wheelset at around 8.2kg. Probably less if I really needed to. It will be for flat crits and some road races in the UK. I'm not too precious about weight but .mindful I still want that snappy kick when I get out of the saddle!

I have ordered white as per the pictures shown on here. I have hears that white paint is heavier than most. I am considering changing the order to bare carbon, with a layer of clearcoat. Reckon that would save 200grams or so maybe and keep it below 8kgs. I'm probably thinking too much about it though!!

Mikey.

White paint is not that heavy. For this amount of surface it will differ from another color by 10 grams.
If you don't paint the frame, you can reduce the weight by 100 grams.

On bikes white is heavier because you need to apply more coats to completely hide the black carbon base

I have just taken delivery of this frameset, and must say so far, I am impressed. In the end I ordered UD Glossy. So bare carbon with a coat of glossy lacquer. My frame is in size Small.

Frame, size Small, front and rear derailleur hanger attached - 1168 g
Fork - 527 g
Seatpost - 265 g
Handlebar 380/110mm - 352 g
Thru axels - 93 g

I’m just waiting on a new 12 speed Ultegra group set, and will look to get it built as soon as possible. The build will come in at just under 8kgs with the 1600g wheel set I am currently using. For next seasons races, I am looking at wheels along the lines of CRW, Magene, Farsport, No6 etc. This will take the bike to approx 7.7kg, less if I decide to run 1x, which I would be more than happy with!

Also for anyone wondering about geometry. In size small (not looked at other sizes), it is ‘extremely’ similar to a Canyon Aeroad XS. Again for me this is great, knowing that geometry fits me well.

Service from Kitty through the process has been great. Especially with me changing my mind halfway through the buying process, and my constant questions!

Will keep you updated once the build is done.

Kind Regards,

Mikey.

So it is looks that ud glossy in S is much more lighter than that 1500g white M - but 332g is crazy -maybe some changes in production from this first white sample? While the difference between a white and a black fork is only 23g. I wonder how much actual L size weighs.

Hi All,

So the frame is built up and really happy with how everything went. It all went smoothly. Di2 battery is stowed nicely in an internal clip in the downtube. I was nervous around seatpost slippage and headset play, but both areas have been spot on so far. A question was asked around could the seatpost be reversed to alter offset. This wouldn't be possible unfortunately. The build so far has been with 12speed Ultegra Di2. Still waiting on the new crankset. For now I have repurposed an R8000 fitted with Pas Quest 54/40 from Ali X.

I have done a couple of short rides so far. One pretty spirited with some sprints thrown in to gauge stiffness. For info, I am around 5ft 7 (on a good day), 72kgs, peak power of 1250w.

I must say, everywhere I want it to be stiff, it is stiff! Front end is spot on with no flex, as you would expect by the beefy forks and headtube. Bottom bracket, I can't detect any deflection under load. The rear triangle feels great also.
All very different to my SL7 clone. That is by no means a noodle, but it does feel like you are fighting with the bike when in a max sprint. The WR054, when sprinting, everything feels solid and planted if that makes sense?

I know this all sounds very positive, but at the minute I'm over the moon with it. It is a heavier bike.but that really isn't an issue for me as I race flat crits. It's currently sat at just over 8kgs. However that is with a heavy 1650g wheelset and a heavy alloy railed saddle. There is room to budge around 3-500 grams there alone if that is a concern. I will certainly be looking at CRW, Farsports, Magene etc. over the off season. Also considering 1x for races.

Will keep you updated over the coming months, on how I am getting on with the bike.

Kind Regards,

Mikey.

I took a risk and ordered it in UD glossy size L. If the Mikeyblue with size S has 1168gm, I hope that L size should have 1250g max. I also asked Kitty from Winow and she wrote "The weight has been optimized and is lighter than before" but she does not wrote me specific weight.

So frame arrived. How I wrote ordered glossy black L. Looks preatty nice, where is nice pattern is visible UD carbon other technologically more complicated parts are pure black. Inside is smooth surface, looks EPS molded. Handlebar (380/120) black matte looks preatty stiff. came without computer holder.

Fork - uncut: 533g
Frame - L size: 1293g
Seatpost - 266g

Frame come with relativly heavy thru axle (93g), need to buy some lighter, also other metallic parts are not lightest, so there is also some room for Winow to inprovement (mainly seatpost metal parts weight 65g).

Built will take some time, so riding behavior will know in future. But for what arrived price/value is great.

XL is still under design and will be available in XL size later.

Hello Kitty,
Do you have a timeline for XL mold of the frame? Is it expected to be available any time soon?

[edit] reached out to Kitty email, as well as wrote to 3 AliEx stores that sell WR054 (Winow Carbon Bike Store, Winow Factory Store and Fintowon Bike Store) regarding potential XL availability. Fintowon replied that it will not be available, the other two responded that they will provide answer later. I also asked seatpost length and minimum insertion length but have not received response either.

Interestingly, the frame measurements are very similar to Cervelo S5 (L vs S5 58).

@Vaclav maybe you could share your seatpost length and any build photos / feedback if available?

Hi friend, the XL size is expected to be available in the middle of this year. The exact time is not yet confirmed.
