Title: What's Up with my Carbon Fork
Post by: timwa on March 31, 2015, 07:56:57 PM
Hi all,

so my newly arrived XMI 29er fork has a small blemish in the region where the bearing sits. See:

It looks like it is maybe a bit or carbon sitting on the aluminium that I need to scrape off, but then I wonder if the aluminium has been turned after production and it has been cut thru to reveal carbon underneath?  Not knowing how these are made, it is a little hard to say.

Anyone seen this before and can shed some light?

Thanks

So advice from XMIPLAY is to not worry about it.  Apparently all their forks look like that ??

It honestly looks ok to me too. I say as long as the bearings seat correctly and everything, I wouldn't worry about it.
