Title: Ceccotti RF27
Post by: jeffrey on November 22, 2024, 05:35:31 PM
Do we have any feedback on this frame?
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007443932884.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.152e38da7uObu6&mp=1

I'm on the look for some cheap endurance frame with threaded BB and this ticks a few boxes, but I can't find much information about it around the internet, nor about the brand in general.

With coupons I could get it for around 400€ delivered to Italy, it's really tempting

What do you think?

Ciao!
Nerver eard this brand, i've done a quick search on the forum and it seems like someone ordered before. Seems like is produced by TanTan and sold with a different brand, just a normal white label one. For 400€ shipped is not too bad but you need to add at least 100€ for a integrate handlebar (more coolnes to the build) and you have only two year of warranty that i dont know how you can claim it.
For this kind of price i prefer something like VB or other more know brand (need to increase the budget). Overall take your time and do as much research as possibile and dont be afraid to ask.

The name Ceccotti seems italian so one extra point!

One downside is the tire clearance limited to 28-30, I would like the option to put on some 35 mm for lighter gravel rides

The RF26 and RF30 both have 32c tire clearance if you need something wider. I'm actually eyeballing the RF30 since it's a bit lighter and has that SL8 look. I have the Ceccotti RF25 gravel frame shipping to me (same as SPCycle G056) from the Surprise store. I think it's all the same seller with multiple storefronts. If that gravel frame turns out to be decent, I might consider buying a road frame from them in the future.

Ceccotti is the brand from manufacturer Sequel Sports. They have no affiliation with Tan Tan. That at least is what they told me. Their DCFR26 frame is produced from the same mold as the Tan Tan TT-X 38 which is why we discussed them in the same thread.

User Frank and me had a few quality issues with our frames which were kind of a red flag for me to not buy from them again. Mine was just cosmetic I believe. But Frank had a steerer tube that was so oval that he had to had it corrected by a carbon repair shop. He also had issues with the saddle clamp not fitting the seatpost correctly so he had to sand it to fit.

The red flag for me was that Sequel did not acknowledge any of these issues but instead they basically said that all their frames are like that.

Anyways I'm still undecided, I asked a few quotations but this still would come about half the price of a Longteng RD301 and like 40% of a Carbonda 1136.
