Title: Inspecting carbon fibre on the inside - good AliE tool?

Looking for a recommendation for a decent to good but cheap borescope / endoscope - too inspect my AliE carbon fibre buys. What can you point me to please?

My thinking today - as far as it goes, is that best for me is a USB version.

Reason being - the budget of the manufacturer is then solely on the camera & relies on me to provide display and battery power.

My phone for work is changed every 2 years approximately and so the battery is regularly refreshed without me doing anything. Phone displays are by & large pretty great.

So any reccs out there for an AliE USB endoscope?

I believe there is an inherent risk to those USB endoscopes because they could technically datamine your phone or require a sketchy app/malware installed. Not an expert and not sure if this ever happened but I read this could be a possibility. Can't help further but it's worth thinking about

Interesting thanks for the heads up - just found some stuff on reddit discussing what you mention.

I wonder if iPhone or Mac are better than Android / Windows - if they have built in support as standard for what's a usb camera & so no app needs downloading.

Technically, even just plugging in a usb device is a security risk, no need to actively install shady stuff or anything. Is that option heavily utilised in the field? Probably not, but who knows.

So, instead of trying to figure out how to harden your daily driver, you might consider just getting any cheap phone/tablet with a half decent screen.

Yes another good point thank you - was aware of that concern but had forgotten somehow! I've decided to park the idea for now.
