I emailed Wing at Carbonda this week to confirm availability of their FM-1286 downhill frame because I love my FM-1266/1003 park bike and wanted the same handling in a full DH.
She’s going to get back to me on Monday with more information (I assume about how long the delay in availability might be), but she did say that the 1286 is “out of stock.” I’m not sure if she meant my size (Large) or all sizes.
She offered the 2023/2024 Nukeproof Dissent Carbon, which apparently was also produced at Flybike and they have a back stock of all sizes since Nukeproof went out of business. At $1440 versus $1310 for the 1286 (plus shipping), it’s somewhat tempting. Lots of flip chips, geometry options and kinematic adjustment. It also uses the same 250x75 shock length as the 1286, and is being sold with the brand’s paint — so I assume the logos and head badge too, but will ask about that and try to get photos if possible.

Do you have a link to the FM-1286 geo chart/pictures? None of the links work in the other thread.

It’s here: https://carbonda.com/upload/download/CFM-1286/CFM-1286-Geometry.pdf (https://carbonda.com/upload/download/CFM-1286/CFM-1286-Geometry.pdf)
I’ve found that the geometry of the Dissent Carbon is quite similar (and much more adjustable), although the suspension kinematic is significantly different and there are a few aesthetic differences, like the seatpost angle even though their effective seat tube angles are roughly the same.
Is the picture in that PDF what you were looking for, or was it full build photos? I have a few pictures of the Cachet Bikes prototypes.

I think the reason for the broken links (and the fact that the 1286 disappeared from their home page a while back, even though its product page still exists) is this “out of stock” issue.
This also might explain why Cachet bikes removed the OPN1 DH from its web site and haven’t talked about it on their social media since last spring. Which makes me think it’s going to be a long time before the 1286 is available.
I feel like I’d be rolling the dice with the handling/suspension behavior of the Dissent and it has a lot of unique parts, flip chips etc that would be tough to replace….I also enjoyed having people come up to me at bike parks almost every session and ask “what is that?!” heaping praise on my 1266 build whereas a Nukeproof isn’t nearly so unique. But it may end up being my best/only full DH option for the 2025 season.

Dang, did they say anything about this frame coming back into stock or is it gone for good?

I should hear back from Wing with more details in the next 48 hours or so and will report back. I’ve posted pretty much everything I know so far.
I’d love to think they could scrounge up one or two Larges or XLs out of a warehouse somewhere, or that the next batch will only be a couple months away, but my guess is that they don’t have the molds in active service and it could be too late to avoid tariff changes in the US or have a build done by May.
I’m warming to the idea of a Dissent if it really comes with all the small parts that Nukeproof sold them with, but would much rather have one without the brand paint or logos. I’m going to ask Wing for pictures and more details but my guess is they’re sold without warranty, maybe without the reach adjust headsets (or extra for them), and strictly with the two 2023/2024 Nukeproof paint jobs: bright red and dark gray.

That would be great, thank you. Yeah, branding is a huge detractor for me. although NP would be far better than the big S or T on the side of my bike. cant wait to hear what they say.

Okay, so here’s the update — such as it is:
The 1286 is available only in Medium and Wing didn’t give me much detail but didn’t seem to be suggesting that would change soon. (I didn’t ask but she mentioned that the 1266/1003 is still available in all sizes).
The Nukeproof Dissent is available in gray in sizes NP1 (S/M) and NP3 (L/XL), and red in all three sizes. It’s a very bare frame other than the OEM +/-6mm reach adjust headsets. OEM frame protectors don’t seem to be included based on the pictures Wing sent me — I was able to find the chainstay ones from a UK seller on eBay but not the seat stay or down tube. I got a down tube protector for the older model alloy Dissent and we’ll see how it fits but it doesn’t cover the bottom bracket or ICSG tabs like the carbon model one is supposed to. I don’t think anything else like a rear axle is available from them since Wing never mentioned it and there isn’t one in the frame pictures she sent.
There aren’t many variations of 12x198 through axle (for 157mm Super Boost rear hub) out there, they all seem to use the same 1.75 thread so hopefully I’ll get one that fits on the first try.
Complete replacement rear triangles are available on eBay for a mere $80+35 shipping with protectors included so I’ll probably get one just for insurance.
I ordered a red NP2 today so a build thread should be forthcoming this spring…as weird as it is to do that with a “branded” frame on Chinertown.

Strange times. I wonder if opportunities like this will persist as companies like Flybike get sick of late- or non-payment from now or soon to be defunct companies.

I have a feeling it will, since the industry still seems to be on the downslope of brand shutdowns and private equity buyouts that keep little more than the name intact.
It may be one of the best ways to get fully “up to date” frames in the high end segments (enduro, DH, progressive gravel bikes) of the market for a while, since the pace of new in-house factory designs seems to have slowed way down in the past couple of years. For understandable reasons.
I’m pretty excited to get a current generation top tier DH bike with a beautiful paint job built for under $4K with specs much better than Nukeproof’s $7000(+tax) high end 2023 model, but would still happily give up the shiny red paint to have gotten it unbranded. There’s something priceless about a one of a kind bike you can brand, or not, any way you want.
Nukeproofs and in particular the Dissent Carbon aren’t that common in the States but it’s not the same. Your unique identity that turns heads at the bike park gets superseded by “oh he’s a Nukeproof guy and they went out of business.”

The carbon dissent is a sweet looking bike. 1440 is great deal too, congrats!

And now we wait…
Not sure how Chinese New Year will affect things, I’m hoping it ships soon but on average my previous ones have been 2-4 weeks to ship and then another two for delivery.

Frame has shipped! Will be here tomorrow. I also got one of the cheap spare rear triangles that are up on eBay, just as insurance.
Going to start a build thread when the frame arrives.

Wasn't sure where to put it, but let's try here since it's about nudeproof at some point.
So I recently contacted carbonda about any new/updated trail/enduro frames. Besides the Dissent mentioned here, they also have Mega and Giga 290 or 297 for 935$ and 1310$, respectively. The Mega size L is 3300g. Personally, not buying since it's a bit heavy. And there're some pics.

Any news on the build thread? Did I miss it?

No, I just had a mixup with the local shop that had me waiting 3 weeks for a job that was actually done in two days, and I just got the partially built frame back a couple days ago. I’ve been looking for a good spot to take pictures — messy house with no good backgrounds, and outside is still snowy without many spots I could put a bike that doesn’t have wheels yet.
Coming soon though! I’ll try to get some pics today. It’s *insane* how good this looks and I want to make sure to do it justice 8)
