Hi all,
I'm looking for a Carbon Wheelset in 45-55mm depth, weight below 1400g ideally aero optimised for 28mm tires.
On my list are: - Elite Edge in 45mm (1330g, ~600€)
- Ryet Wheelset in 45 (1190g, ~630€https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005007460253185.html?sourceType=1&spm=a2g0o.wish-manage-home.0.0&gatewayAdapt=glo2deu (https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005007460253185.html?sourceType=1&spm=a2g0o.wish-manage-home.0.0&gatewayAdapt=glo2deu)
- Easedon in 45mm (1300g, ~500€)
Are there any recommendations towards one of these three or any other similar priced wheelsets. Currently I'm running on an Equator 45C with Powerray hubs, it's 45mm and quite heavy with 1550g if I recall correctly and also "only" 19mm inner width

I went with Go-Zone. 30mm external, 24mm internal, 50mm depth. I run 28 in front and 30 in the rear. Now I’m sold on wider wheels. Decent weight for the Go-Zones too. I think I paid 440.00 shipped.

Do you have a link to the wheelset?

You can consider our wheelset. 45mm lightweight wheelset 1383g ± 5%, if you upgrade CXRAY spokes, it can be reduced to 1313g ± 5%.

Unfortunately you don't ship to Germany :(
I have seen a used Carl-Z wheelset with DT180, coming in around 1330g in 45, only downside, only 19mm. Still quite tempting, but i think with 21c it would be better with 28+mm tyres

Same but I went for the carbon spoke versions. 45mm deep, just under 1300g, $700 I think? They measure 31mm wide and 28c GP5Ks measure 30mm mounted. At ~90kg I am running pressures in the mid 60 psi range.
So yea any 30-32mm wide wheelset should do it.
-
Yeah, I run the same pressures on my tires. They seem like a solid wheelset for the price. I’m happy so far. It looks like GoZone is now offering the same wheelset with DT Swiss hubs for +700.00

What do you think of these rims? 23c, 34mm width at the most, seem to be quite aero, but with 23c still "allowed" for 28mm tyres as the 24c option are not "allowed" acc. ETRTO and manufacturers

So, this is an interesting topic, internal width. My GoZones are 24mm IW 30mm EW. Last week during a training ride, I got a partial flat or lost pressure in my front tire at the last 2 mi. I was able to make it to my car without a complete flat. Pressure was low, no signs of punctures or damage. I do remember hitting some debris, which I expected to find the damage afterwards.
Got home, tire completely deflated. Swapped to a new latex tube. Inspected the old tube. No holes or slashs. Pumped it up to about 25-30psi and left it in the garage over night. No loss of pressure. I’m wonder if running 28s on a 24IW wheel caused a “tire burp” and loss of pressure?!
-
I had back to back flats in the rear with my GoZone wheelset....... seemed to be a bum copy of the GP5K TT. I switched back to a regular GP5K and so far so good.
-
Currently running Pirelli PZero Race tires with latex tubes.
-
Went with a offer from Easedon on AliExpress, 23 IW and 30 on the outside with the widest being 34mm.
In 45mm it's 1280g heavy. Test ride will be tomorrow

How does a tubed tire burp? Never heard of that. Tubeless, sure.

Same but I went for the 45s with carbon spokes. I think they came in under 1300g with gloss finish. Great wheels

It is a thing if the tube is an alcoholic.
Otherwise, I am inclined to agree with you.

I bought the EliteWheels Edge 45 mm Gravel, as the rim profile is far more progressive (24 mm int, 31 mm ext) than the standard road (21 mm int, 28 mm ext). Mine (with steel bearings and "Wing 20" spokes) are 1420g without rim tape and I have nothing to complain about so far.
