Title: D272 hub from CSC ? specifications, bearings, provider?
Post by: nabilou on April 15, 2025, 09:25:23 AM
is this hub reliable?
it is sold by csc with their ultra light v-shape wheelset?
do you know it? is it reliable? who is the provider? what are the beartings specifications? it pretty hard to find some information about the hub and it s not always a good signal. i only know there are 54T and it s better to go for 36.

i trust elitewheel but we have to pay 2 times for the edge : 1) waiting for 2 months 2)  expensive shipping cost (spain warehouse is empty)
so csc seems to be a good alternative in terms of price

and csc has an option for carbon spokes too

H-Works make quality HUBS
That’s a fairly generic HUB
Many carbon rim Manufacturers  use these for there wheel builds XM CarbonSpeed, Carbon Bike Kits and some larger brands are also using these.
I am using these hubs on my DFS Carbon wheels as they accept carbon spokes.
I emailed H-Works direct and you can get these for $135usd a set.

Read the replies!!

They are H-Works HUBS rebranded as CSC and they make quality HUBS so that’s a yes!
They will only be reliable obviously as long as they are serviced and maintained regularly

Any Insights on their cheaper alternative, the CSCT31 hubs? If you choose these instead of the D272, wheels are approx. 100 USD cheaper, but also 250g heavier.
But for a cheap gravel wheelset, i wouldn't mind the extra weight...

I have the d272 ones on my Gravel bike, I feel like the rear hub/freewheel combo is a bit draggy, anyone experienced that?

I am thinking about buying their wheelset for light gravel 30 outer width, 40 height. Leightweight. Ratchet hub. Much cheaper than elitewheels; and the reviews seem very good!
