Title: WORKSWELL WCB-M-062 Replacement rear thru axel
Post by: Rick64 on May 03, 2017, 11:57:12 AM
Just picked up a great replacement for the stock 062 quick-release rear axel and one for my RockShox REBA

Carbon-Ti's X-LOCK 142X12 Shimano Super-light Al7075 rear axle with E-Thru Shimano standard. Excellent stiffness, variable thinckness axle, 5 mm hex key for a fast and safe closing (wrench not provided). Available in many anodized colours. Thread pitch: 1.5 mm. Made in Italy. Axle length from the base of the head: 169,5 mm (minus 1,5 mm of flat washer) 34g (workwell 87g)

Unfortunately I had to have it in polished silver as sold out of black, but on the plus side £35 instead of Carbon Ti's website price of £85!!! 15mm front for my RockShox Reba was only £29.99 and they had it in black. Retailer was bromleybike.co.uk near London.

My stock workswell rear 142x12 was 72 grams, i switched it out for this one since its got good review and its very cheap

http://store.ibiscycles.com/hexle-p262.aspx

It weighs about 40 grams, i picked the shimano 142 version and it fits perfectly

I also switched out my front 15x100 stock rockshox axle for their maxle stealth, here is a link to where I purchased mine

http://www.ebay.com/itm/302266146459?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

It weighs 38 grams instead of the stock 73 grams

Hope this helps somebody!

I also bought the Ibis Hexle...but its short by a few threads when you thread it into the drop out.

I'm now using a axle from an Evil Following. It's not as light as the Hexle, but it has a flush fit in the drop out.
