Title: Deciding on a Frame
Post by: Jsquared89 on August 07, 2017, 12:04:20 PM
I've been reading through this and other forums for a while now, doing research and trying to decide on a frame. But it's getting overwhelming, so I'm going to ask for some help. Lol Right now I'm riding a Niner One9rdo with xx1 drivetrain, Sram Guide Rs brakes, DT Swiss wheels and hubs. A few weeks ago I rode by buddy's Pivot Mach 6 and almost immediately decided that I need a full suspension bike. So I am looking for a frame that I can build into a Trail/All mountain rig, while using the most parts from my Niner as possible. Aside from a new/longer fork and rear shock obviously. I've been looking at the M06, Fm356, Fm058.

One problem I see is that my xx1 cranks are Bb30 and all of these frames seem to be either BSA or Bb92. Are there any frames I could use my  crankset with?

Long spindle BB30 crank can be used with both 73/68mm english threaded (BSA30) and BB92 (RF cinch bb92 bb) bottom bracket shells. I did both using my S2200 crank.

I installed a RaceFace BB92 bottom bracket in my M06 to use with my Next SL crank. The bottom bracket came with a spacer to use with the long spindle 30mm crank.

Most of the frames are native PF/BB30. The BSA and BB92 are inserts that are bonded in. Just let the manufacturer know that you want a PF30 frame.

Awesome! Thanks for all of the info. I will start messaging some of the manufacturersand asking questions. Any suggestions on which would be the best frame for an all mountain build?
