Title: CS-057 Low Profile Headset?
Post by: Bhaalgorn on September 09, 2017, 07:48:52 PM
My fork steerer tube is about 1/4" too short for my CS-057. Does anyone know of a lower profile headset than the NECO that comes with the frame?

What stem do you intend to use? If it has stack height in 40mm range, look at Syntace Flatforce which is 27mm, that's about half an inch, should be more than enough. Other manufacturers should have similar products too, like FSA SL-K -20deg. If stem's not enogh, you can save about 1mm by swapping upper bearing to FSA SL ACB, I did that recently and had to add 4x0.3mm spacers so stock Neco dust cap doesn't rub the frame.

You could try one of these once they become available.

Cane creek currently make a zerostack headset. I bought a 40's series as the 057 had a longer head tube than my previous bike and I was worried about my cut fork not being long enough. In the end plenty of room and I even had to add a spacer. My previous bike had a 120mm headtube length vs 125mm for 057.

I went from a fsa headet to zerostack series 40 and gained about 7.5mm which should be enough for you.
