Title: Re: FM058 Hongfu frame problems
Post by: bournon on June 14, 2018, 03:02:40 AM
We did buy the FM058 frame non boost version. But we have have quite big problems with it. We used SRAM GPX 11 speed but this frame can not fit a 32T chainring. There is only 1mm margin to rear chainstay, and the teeths eats the frame when on trails.

There must be some construction error on this frame. I can not recommend anyone to buy it now. We did order 2 frames in 2 sizes and both have this problem.

Bottom is 92mm so it is not possible to add a spacer on drivetrain side. (it should only be added if frame is 86mm)

We have contacted Hongfu but we dont get any proper answers. Just stupid questions.

That's weird.  My fm058 easily fits a 34t, with room to spare.  I suspect it might even fit a 34t oval ring.  This is on a Shimano xtr 980 crank, which supposedly (per the specs) has a chain line of 50mm with the chainring in the middle position that I am using.  This is with a 32t or 34t race face 104bcd NW chainring (with no offset).

What is the chain line of your setup?  Exactly what crank and chainring are you running?

Posting your problem in all the threads about the FM058 won't solve it you know?

Removed your other and the same posts in all other topic. One time is enough! Thank you.

We used standard components 11 speed GXP SRAM

32T SRAM Chainring. 6mm offset for 11 speed setup.

You must place boost gear, with only a displacement of 3 mm.

This is the NON-BOOST version of frame FM058. Chainline should be 49mm. That is 6mm offset.

Boost is 3mm offset - it would help little but chainline will not be so good.
