Title: Something in my fork
Post by: kingchickenstrip on September 16, 2014, 09:59:11 PM
So I received my new IP 256 SL frame, 2 rims, handle bar, and fork. Everything looked great! From talking to Jason the first time on Sept. 9th to holding my frame on Sept. 16th, I thought that was very fast!!!

I did have one problem. My carbon fork has something rattling around inside of it. It is on the side that has the mount for the brake caliper. Has anyone had this problem??

I know it would be annoying if I was riding around with a loud rattling noise.

I have the carbon fork as well although I haven't installed it yet. Mine as something very small inside of it as well though I don't know what. I suspect it is the center of one of the pop rivits that they use to attach the cable mount to the fork leg. I doubt I'll hear it when riding.

The rear triangle of my FM036 has a similar rattle, as Vipassana said it's probably just a rivet from where the cable guides are attached. I'm yet to hear it over wind/tyre noise.

I would definitely live with it if it wasn't so loud.  It sounds like a piece of metal or a large piece of carbon. I know I would hear it on a ride.

I did get a quick reply from Jason and he is looking into sending another fork.
