Re: Fake/chinese frame or legit western brand bike ? ( You know that Giant is from Taiwan, that can be seen more Eastern than China  ;D
My theory is, if you look at a top end branded bikes, you'll pay about half or less, the price for the same or better equipment.

Don't buy on the first shiny aliexpress seller you find, but do some homework by reading here what sellers have good reputation.
Personally I value more after sales service and reliability of a Chinese brand building their own models, than sellers of copies.

I'm having a hard time to find a frame for a 1.95m guy that is less flexible than you.
I would go for this one https://www.flybike-asia.com/product/148.html ( by Carbonda ) if I didn't have to put 6cm of spacers under his stem although Carbonda told me it is safe.
You should have more luck.

Re: Fake/chinese frame or legit western brand bike ? (
Ok thanks for the suggestion, between the top manufacturers (Carbonda, Speeder, Dongfu, Hongfu, Workswell, etc) is there one that really stands out or all they all good ?
I started with frames from Peter, until he left.
I've built a few workswell hardtails, never had an issue with them but it looks their service is non-existent.
I almost exclusively build bikes from Carbonda now.

Re: Anyone buy from kingbike888 on ebay? Looks legit...
What aspects make for poor hubs: Weight, durability, less ratchet engagement, serviceability, weather sealing?

All of the above lol?

You may have a light hub with great ratchet engagement, not sure about the rest  :)
But Chinese builders are improving and will catch up one day.

Re: XC full suspension frame
Well, yes, I guess this is european skinny lycra preference.

Still I am ridding a CVA platform bike full open and trully amazed, but I admit, on fire road, a lock out on the bar would be great.

Before you go too far in your analysis you may know I'm an skinny-euro-lycra guy  ;D

Re: Syncros Fraser iC SL / Scott Spark 900 handelbar 90$ instead of 399$
Any more reports on either the Ullicyc or OG-Evkin bars?  Thinking of ordering one, just wanted to see if there's any more feedback before pulling the trigger.

A few months later, I'm still in one piece riding the OG-Evkin bar 8)

Can we stop this thread? I'm spending too much because of it  ;D

Re: Groupset News
Shimano also patents changes with battery... Sram can patent "its" battery, "its" clamping and similar things, but I don't see why other brands can't use removable batteries... Shimano has its satellite buttons ( patented ones are supposed) did not Sram take out his Blips?

There are strange patents like a 24mm axle between two bearings belongs to Shimano.
So came BB30 & Co, GXP, DUB,... giving us all kind of compatibility troubles.

For the wireless, it isn't clear. Plenty of legend like mine on forums.
https://bikerumor.com/sram-electronic-drivetrain-patents-show-wireless-road-mountain-bike-designs/ has a good overview but nothing on batteries.

It is strange Shimano and others are coming with semi-wireless, while they could do the same as SRAM.
Easier to setup and maintain, cheap batteries, that you can swap between components in case your derailleur is flat.
I don't see an advantage, except a longer battery life maybe, of a wired battery in the frame.

Re: Carbonda FM-1306A a 69° Hardtail

May I ask for a photo of the finished build? :)  and how is your impression of the bike? I am thinking of the 1306 although I would like a smaller steering angle around 67°, which I can't really find for hardtail frames with 100.

Sure. If everything goes according to plans, the first one will be built this weekend.

Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056
...the rub is bad enough that the wheel barely turns.

If you put the other type of lock ring, that you can tighten with the same tool as for a cassette, you should be fine.

Re: TT frames
I tried contacting Speeder through their live chat, but instead of answering my questions, they just closed the chat.

Try harder  ;D
