Re: Shimano GRX brake adjustment For recalcitrant brakes, I usually put the pistons back and remove the pads.
Calipers have generally markers to center the caliper on the rotor that must be true.
Try to align the caliper with the disc(it must be as flat as possible) the best you can.
Put the pads back and brake to see what happens.

Now gnerally two problems can occur.
Either one of the piston sticks more than the other.
Or the mounts are not faced.

The first is easy. Get some silicone gel used in plumbing to assemble pipes.
Get one piston as out as you feel comfortable without popping it out.
Clean it with alcohol and apply the gel on it.
Put it back in and out a few time to lubricate everything.
Mineral oil can be used as well for the brakes that use it.

The second is easy too... if you have the facing tool.
Face the mount. Recenter the caliper, put the pad.

And ride !

Re: Carbonda FM-1306A a 69° Hardtail Finally built the two this weekend !
No problem to report about the frame.
Brake mounts were aligned. Smooth inside. Headtube ends clean.
Same great build quality as usual from Carbonda.

The pink one is for my sister !
Unfortunately I did order a 31.6 seat tube.::) Waiting for the 30.9 to arrive.

With GX AXS, a ZTTO cassette as she wanted a rainbow, but didn't want to invest in an eagle cassette, we'll see how it goes.
In the picture it is a ZTTO chain, but I don't like the noise it makes, so I have an XX1 on order to replace it.
The wheels are the XC925 from lightbicycle.com with 240 EXP hubs, CX-Rays spokes.

The ZRACE Hardrock crankset looks well built.
The Onirii M4 brakes were a very nice surprise, they look awesome and were very easy to assemble, no bleed required.

The brake adapters coming with the frame F PM160->180 and R FM->PM are a bit chunky, but free  ;)
I had to file a mm or so from the rear one to let the M4 totally on it.

The fork is temporary, she's not a rock garden type of rider, and I try to convince her a rigid fork will be enough.
If it works, we'll order a pink one, if not, we'll buy another fork.

Re: Carbonda FM-1306A a 69° Hardtail The second black one(size L, the pink is in M) is more on a budget build.
Shimano M6100 components.
DT-Swiss 1900 wheels.
Onirii M4 brakes(I had to bleed the rear, just putting the funnel, and getting some bubble out of the lever).
A Judy fork.
A Elita one seatpost and a UNO stem too.

Re: Frame Advice
Sorry I have been away. Thanks for your advice much appreciated.
Do you know the order of the drop in headset from Carbonda?
Especially the two thin steel rings. Thanks

They come between the dust seal(the cover just before the stem or spacers)
And the compression ring(the ring that sits on the top bearings)

Only needed if the dust seal is in contact with the frame when you tighten the headset.

Re: Carbonda FM-1306A a 69° Hardtail @Pedaldancer, it was a joke, no worries  ;D

Just to report, that the ZTTO chain noise was coming from a bad rear derailleur setup  ::)
The final weight is 8.3Kg. I received the seatpost yesterday, Aliexpress has a very fast delivery to Belgium since a few months.

Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056
...I like that they covered the bottom bracket face for paint. I won't need to get it faced at my LBS...
Yes if you put a 24mm axle BSA BB, no problem.
In the case of a DUB BSA, the BB diameter is a bit bigger and facing might be necessary.

Re: Maxxis tires on Aliexpress? I did order Ramblers for gravel last year, they were at $36

They must have ~2000km now, went through harsh rocks in Croatia, and are still fine.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
What's it to you? Let the man do what he wants. I find it good jest to be honest.

At least this will help him resell it for a much better price  ;D

Re: Carbonda FM909 I was going to ask here if someone did try to install a non-boost Eagle crankset with a 34T Oval on the FM909.
To have a better chainline on the big cogs, like I did on my FM936.

But then I did some research.

And found an article from WolfTooth: https://www.wolftoothcomponents.com/pages/boost-chainline-and-chainrings
Telling that it is a quite bad idea on a 12sp 1x, as the chainring is 3mm more inward, and crosses more the chain on the 2-3 smaller cogs.
And it may touch the cog just above.

I instantly understood why my chains have this strange lateral wear.
So I wrote this other message to make you benefit from my smart trial... ::)
