Re: chinese rear gravel derailleur compatibility The LTwoo GR9 RD is on sale right now for less than $27 USD. I'd definitely give that a shot paired to a nice set of Shimano shifters or even Sensah Team Pro shifters if on the cheap.

Re: Flakey Aliexpress App! After a certain amount of coins, I think it's a waste of time. It's not like you can apply $1000 USD worth of coins at one time.

I've probably posted this before, but now that I've been using it for a while, the H52MM TY02 (TY01 are for wider fork tubes) expander plug is now my go-to for all my bikes. I swapped out all the stock expander plugs that came with my forks and replaced them with this plug. Excellent engagement and holds tightly. On Pick 3 & Save you can buy them for less than $2 USD a piece. Highly recommended.

Anyone see these new offset oversized jockey wheels that allow you to use them on stock pulley cages? I think these are actually pretty cool.

Just saw that and was trying to figure out where to buy!

They're Taiwanese based, so I doubt buying from AliEx will have much savings. The jockey wheels are on the Tripeak website, hopefully they'll come out later this year.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Sensah dropped mechanical 12 speed Team Pro shifters that are compatible with 11 speed R7000/R8000 RDs and I'm sure the R7100 105 12 speed RD.

I wonder if Sensah will go electronic shifting this year? Wheeltop doesn't ship to North America, so that only leaves LTwoo with worldwide distribution. It'd be nice have more competition.

If you want them for perfomance reasons and not aesthetic reasons they're probably a waste of money as any chain efficiency gains will probably be offset by the larger bearings

I'm surround by hills where I live. I tested both regular jockey wheels and oversized jockey wheels on the same climb. I found the oversized wheels made spinning a bit more easier on the same uphill grind.

Re: Rust Proof Brake Discs? I’ve left an old disc brake mtb outside for a year exposed to the elements. The disc rotors never rusted. For $800, just buy a used rim brake bike. My buddy sold a mint Wilier carbon rim bike with Ultegra 6800 for like $400. If you want to build something, budget for more quality components. Building it right the first time will cost you less money in the long run when you get the itch to upgrade!

Re: Sensah Team Pro left shifter unable to index 105 FD properly I would disconnect the the shift cable from the FD and verify you have all 3 shift clicks. Pull the shift cable to creat tension while shifting the lever. Also make sure you're hoods aren't interfering with the shifters. Also it could be an issue where the cable isn't properly seated in the shift mechanism. I've gotten Team Pro shifters to shift the Ultegra/105 FD and even the LTwoo R9 FD with no issues.

Re: TPU vs Latex innertube Offbondage tpu tubes are my go-to now, mainly due to the alloy valve. The plastic valve stems can crack if you're not careful. Though if you want the cheapest tpu tubes, ThinkRider are decent with a semi alloy/plastic stem valve. Plus I prefer 25c tires and it's hard to beat the lower cost/weight ratio of clincher tires+tpu tubes and ease of tire changes due to flats. You can also pack several tpu tubes and glueless patch kits in the saddle bag with minimal weight. With road tubeless you have to make sure you have tape that can handle higher pressures (if you have spoke holes), use heavier tires and carry more items (bacon strips, co2 cartridge, plus a tube for emergencies). Unless you're a 100kg ogre, for nimble riders it's tpu all the way.
