Re: TPU vs Latex innertube I've setup numerous gravel tires for tubeless with no issues, but setting up 25c tubeless tires was problematic for me. I don't see myself sizing up my tires for road. I just said f**k it, and went back to TPU tubes and clinchers. I can toss several TPU tubes in the saddle bag and carry an electric pump. Sure you're still prone to flats, but you can easily swap out your clincher tires depending on terrain. I prefer having that flexibility if I want to go with a sub-200g slick or a more durable road tire.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! I bit the bullet and ordered the new style Ztto/Goldix lightweight 11/12 speed cassette with the sturdier torx screwed spider bracket. I bought it with a few other items during the current sale. The Spedao/SRoad cassette had the riveted version with the thinner bracket that was prone to cracking after extended use. I picked up the 11-34t version which comes in at significantly less weight than the 105/Ultegra version of the same range while still retaining all-steel cogs. I'm guessing shifting won't be as good as a Shimano cassette, but I'll see how it does on a fully waxed chain setup.

Any references for chain catchers? Preparing for my 2-by Sram red AXS gravel build...

There's the carbon fiber one for very cheap, light af, but it's attaching the chain guide and front derailleur with only one screw - not sure whether that's really an issue

Wherease there's the heavier and slightly more expensive product below, uses 2 different screws for the chain guide and the FD:

Or this one which is still light...

I'll run 30/46 chainrings so another question is whether this would even be effective with such small chainring.

Don't bother with the CF chain catcher. I tried it and it's pretty weak. Mine eventually broke at the screw hole interface. I have the Muqzi chain catcher and it's much better built with quality hardware. I would definitely stick to the alloy variety. Though I stopped using these type of chain catchers all together because I'm more likely to get an outer ring chain drop as opposed to an inner ring. You're better off just getting your FD positioned as close as possible to the chainring teeth and avoid being in your small cogs when you hit bumpy terrain.

FYI - On my gravel bike I'm also running a 46/30t chainring, a GRX 400 FD and use a Ultegra RX800 RD with the clutch in the ON position.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets I also picked up the ER9 during the sale. Price came out to $350 USD with tax once I stacked it with $80 off coupon + coins. I decided to upgrade the rest of the drivetrain in the process so I picked up a 12 speed Goldix 251g 11-34t cassette and Senicx 52-36t chainring. I also picked up a pair of Fovno 12t POM jockey wheels for good measure. I noticed the cadence jumps on the 12 speed 11-34t matched the 11 speed 11-32t in the high gears and with a 36:34t low gear ratio, it'll match my current 34:32t 11 speed. I figure it's one of those scenarios where I can have my cake and eat it too! I've already ordered a set of high quality 14500 batteries and I'll probably pick up some dielectric grease from the auto store later on for insurance. Fortunately I have two road bikes, so I'll convert one to the ER9 and keep the other one mechanical Ultegra just in case.

Re: Electric pump recommendations?
Thanks! Size isn't my concern - it won't come with me on the bike, but stay in the car. I'm looking for the fastest inflation, really. I read about the Fumpa pump being very fast, but it's beyond what I what to spend ($150).

If you're just going to leave it in your car, you should get one of those pumps that also works on your car tires. You can set the PSI and for bike tires, it should be quick.

Re: Stiff, Aero, Crit Bike That SP Cycle R065 looks great. I have an older SP Cycle SP027D that looks very similar in geometry and rides fast. That bike looks like an improvement on all fronts while similar in weight. Also I was extremely satisfied with SP Cycle's fast shipping. The only thing I didn't like was their paint work, it scratches easily. I ended up adding protection tape especially on the top tube.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
What 12 speed MTB cassettes (HG) are good? Shimano doesn't make HG compatible 12s cassettes and my experience with Sunshine and Goldix 12s cassettes has been sub-par. The indexing was near impossible and I always had sloppy shifting in some spots. I eventually switched the freehub to MS and got Deore cassette (thanks DTSwiss) but that's not an option on my gravel bike's wheels. The LTWoo EGR deal is super tempting and I am wondering if I should keep it in 11 speed mode and use the fantastic Deore M5100 11s 11-42 cassette with it.

OR may be with LTWoo's clever app that allows fine tuning each shift the indexing issues similar to mechanical shifting can be negated?

How about a Sunrace 12 speed HG MTB cassette? They're Taiwan made cassettes and I find them to be a bit higher quality. Plus they're easier to find in the US.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Daer all, I've recently ordered Senicx crankset for a low budget gravel project; from the description or user's reviews I can't understand if the 3 screws for gxp chainring are included or I need to do a dedicated order. Someone with similar crankset found the screws in the box?
thanks

If you ordered the crankset or chainring separately they're bound to come with them. I have so many of those screws laying around from random chainrings I've purchased.

Re: LTWOO eGR
I have both ER9 and EGR in the cart. I like how EGR looks compared to ER9. Was planning to install it on VB GF002 which currently has Ultegra 8050 on it but then I realized I use that bike as endurance bike with 35c wheels and very light gravel thrown in where the current 11-34 cassette coupled to 46/36 chainrings work fine. May be I should just get the ER9 and also save a couple of bucks in the process.

I think LTwoo shot themselves in the foot with a max 46t limit with the RD. I'd rather just get a mechanical 12 speed 1x GRX 822 RD which gives a 51t cog capacity and is backwards compatible with 11 speed and probably 10 speed.
