Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
The can fix worked for me so far. Hoping it doesn’t cause a slip and drop the seat post. Guess that’s the price we pay buying open mold.

Not sure this will age well, since these are two different materials under a moving load.
I'm always astounded how tolerant many are with Velobuild quirks, and settle on workarounds.

Re: Chinese cycling clothes
From the stuff I've seen that others have bought:  jerseys still crap, newest bibs good - provided the chamois suits you.

I did order two jersey without collar last year, and find them still great.
I tried a bib, for short rides it is ok, for longer not.

Re: Best Chinese full suspension carbon frame If you look for an XC bike. Did you look at the FM936 or FM909 from Carbonda ?
Many happy people here(me included).
They are not on aliexpress, but by direct contact and trustworthy.

Re: Recommendations on Cheap Tubeless Rim Wheelset?
I think i'll go for the building my own wheelset decision after your comments.
I have some of the tools required.

Any recommendations on who to get a rim from? Since i'm running tubeless I don't want holes so I don't have to run rim tape.

Peter, petercycles[at]foxmail.com
Or lightbicycle, just ask them UST type of rims or no hole.

I'm a disciple of Roger Musson too 8)
Did you see the trick to drive the nipple with a spoke bit and a magnet?
It's fiddly at start, but after a couple of nipples it is very easy.

Re: Carbonda Gravel Carbon frame CFR707
...The rear shifting is poor as I had to run a fully covered cable to the rear which has made the shifting very inaccurate (sometimes you have to shift down two gears then back up one to shift down, and vice versa).
I also have a CFR1056 and struggle with keeping the headset tight.

In fairness I also have a Yeoleo R12 which I'm building and the experience there has also been unsatisfactory.

Your issues look solvable.

The poor rear shifting probably comes from the hose being chewed somewhere(if both cable and hose are new).

The headset not being tight, comes from either a nut not compressing the tube enough, or a star-nut not placed adequately and move when tightening.
Or there is not enough room for the steerer tube to go up when you tighten the top cap.

From the two above I bet your Yoeleo issues can be fixed too  8)

Re: Carbonda FM909 Still a part or two missing for a new build, but the big one arrived today!  8)
One honorable mention, SRAM is now taking care about the plastic, everything is in cardboard molds.

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts
Frame has boost spacing, so chainline 52mm is OK. Yesterday I mounted 32t oval chainring (BCD104 for PM spider) with -2mm offset (50mm chainline) and today I'll be testing. It should be also fine.

It looks ok, but maybe not a good idea.
On the 2-3 small cogs the chain crosses more than designed for, and may make contact with the cog just above.
Causing your chain to wear laterally.
I saw that on my Eagle chains, using a non boost PM.
Not a big deal maybe, but think about all those wasted friction watts 8)

Re: DTSwiss E 1800 or cheap chinese wheelset? Here's an orthogonal advice 8)
Keep your $300, save $200-300 more.
And in a few months buy yourself shiny carbon rims with bitex hubs and pilar spokes.
You won't regret it.

Re: Carbonda FM909 Here's the XX I was slowly building for someone. My frame was shipped today !
Still waiting the rider for the cockpit settings, cut the fork and put the grips on.

XX transmission
No big deal to mount. But I had to play with micro-shifting to get it smooth.
The shifting under load is nice, need to see if really useful.
Not convinced by the new design, I prefer the more stealthy look Eagle AXS had before.

Magura MT8 brakes
Had some pain with the bleeding, but I'm now a Magura bleeding expert   8)
The rear caliper mount was not faced correctly, and the frame does not offer enough room for my VAR facing tool.
So I had to file them manually  :o

Headset
The top crown race didn't allow a proper compression of the headset.
So I used a FSA ACR one I had around. Will check with Carbonda...

The bike ready to ride as pictured is 10.1 Kg
