Re: Cassette wobble after local bike shop installed 9Velo GV35 wheelset LBS like these need to die. Show me a carbon wheel that isn't made in China. Show me a hub that's not made in China.
Anyway.
Trace velo has a recent video where he thought he got a bad cassette, when it was a MTB type cassette that just needed a spacer to fit on a road hub.

My 5 cents: switch to waxing your drive train (plenty of videos on YT on how to do that), and now that your drivetrain is always clean, do your own basic maintenance like changing cassettes and what not. You really dont need many tools, will grow hair on your chest, and will make you 12% more attractive.

Re: Carbon-repair process of my TFSA (SL6 clone) frame Very nicely done, and thank you for sharing your process.
A big advantage of these chinese frames is that if you crash it, you have 500 eur at risk, not 5000. It's the sort of thing that helps sleep better at night.
Good luck with your recovery. Collarbones seem to break like matches.

Re: Airwolf: What is this model inspired from? [Trek Madone] Trek is one of the last brands that still makes frames that dont look like other bikes.
However, it doesnt mean they're better.
In fact, they probably aren't. There are Trek fans out there, but most people just moved on.
My point: this is a really weird design (seat post). Trek is asking for trouble. And buying a copy is asking for extra trouble. Think about the forces on the seat post area. heavy rider on potholes. The insane lever effect the carbon has to endure. Why take the risk? Also, there's no way this will ever look like anything but a Trek, but it won't be a Trek.
The factory is probably adding a bunch of material in the unusual areas hoping the frame doesnt disintegrate. Trek fans praise ride quality. I think it's foolish to expect the same from this.
Also, that sales rep is almost certainly lying to you. The thing is, with China, it's often really hard to avoid miscommunication. They have little to no concept of IP. The mere way they think /speak / write is very different. I stopped counting how often i'd get different answers to the same question, depending on how i asked the question.

Re: Which Disc-Wheels??? 65 mm height / Tubeless / min. 21 mm innerwidth / TA
Does anybody have an opinion on the quality of such wheels? I would think it is an OK choice regarding safety/reliability but not top notch for performance or weight. Will they be inferior to a set of Elite wheels?

Elite wheels are not the gold standard of quality wheels, first of all.
Neither tantan nor air wolf will sell you garbage. I suggest if you can to make sure you get T800 carbon and not T700, and pillar wing 20 or sapim CX Ray spokes. Think also about the tyres you want to use and the corresponding rim width you should choose. T700 and cheap spokes will save you 100-200 USD but wheels matter greatly on a bike.

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets
can someone clarify which is the biggest gear range ERX can take? And does it work with any crankset/K7 combo?

RD. LTWOO on their YT channel clearly said it's max 32T at the back, but some claim it can do 34T. I plan to test a range extender on the ER9, I'll report in a few months.
FD. The FD has a capacity of 16T as per their own marketing materials. "Max gear range 56T", whatever that means.

I think it can work with any crankset k7 combo, largely because they dont make their own so it's got to.

Re: Sava Dream Maker Hard to take them seriously when there isn't even a geometry chart. Zero adjustability. Shipping got to be more expensive too, as the box ought to be bigger because of the one piece fork / bars? Ofc, they make zero aero claims. The 4k is for a full bike though, i m sure they can sell framesets.
Another area of skepticism: T1000 everywhere. I haven't seen anybody claim to do full T1000 rims. And several factories confirmed to me that when a frame says T1000, it's, at best, that it includes SOME T1000 in the mix (usually w T800).
If the whole thing is T1000, it looks like the spokes are carbon, could well be incredibly harsh to ride.
I have zero desire to find out myself :)

Re: Recommendations needed on carbon fork cutting tool
$6 Harbor Freight mini hacksaw is my main tool for this purpose. A hose clamp or piece of tape for a guide. I even used a pipe cutter once and it actually worked pretty alright, kinda slow if anything.

+1 on the garden hose clamp + cheap hacksaw. I've cut 5 steerers like that, 4 carbon, 1 alu. I changed the blade once, probably should have changed it more often. The local DYI store sells blades for very cheap.
Spray water to avoid breathing in the carbon dust. You'll be shocked to see how black the water gets. You definitely don't want to breathe that.
Don't use a pipe cutter on a carbon steerer, you may crush and delaminate the carbon.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
For all of you please remember to unscrew the mounts where the Thru-Axles are mounted and screw them back in with threadlocker.

On my second ride, the rear bracket fell out at 45 km / h because the screw has loosened. The back wheel began to vibrate as hell but i was able to recover the bike without a crash.

You mean putting threadlocker on the tiny little screw that's off center the thru axle? if so, it is a must indeed. There have been reports of people losing that screw.
When i see a thread, i usually wonder: lithium or loctite? I like my girls wet and my threads lubricated.

Glad you didnt die!
