Re: Elite wheels Basically the same wheels I purchased in 2019 for $338.  I have over 8000 miles on these tubeless wheels primarily have been used on Gravel roads.  They have proven to be bullet proof!  No problems or any issues to date.  They have remained tensioned and true and I have not had to even tune them up, (Have only checked their spoke tension about once a year. They have been the best value and durability of any wheels I have ever purchased as a build up set of wheels!!
+ I am an over 200+ lb rider.  They have taken many beatings on wash-board, pot holes and washouts and have held up better than I expected!

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! I purchased an IGPSport IGS630 off of Amazon on a great sale this past November.  To date, I have been pleased with it.  (I still don't see the IGS630s for sale on Aliexpress.)

It has good battery life but here are the problems I dislike about mine.

1.  Response time to display incline/grade:  My unit seems to lag behind the actual grade of the hill I am climbing. Often takes 5-6 seconds to recalculate and display the grade changes.  (I will have ridden past a steep section of a climb before it displays what the grade was.)
2.   On really steep climbs, often 20+% grades, I may have to walk or can be pedaling at around 2mph,  the computer stops recording, after 20 to 30 second it will stop recording, and/or turn off until I go faster than 2mph.
3.  There are almost too many features and screens on this model.   It is prone to me pushing the wrong button and accidentally deleting the current ride file, or creating a new lap.  I suppose I just need to study the manual more and commit to memory what all the buttons do.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Looking at these 2 different models, it looks like the IGS630 has a few more options, has a larger screen, and longer battery life.  (I like having the larger screen.)  Of course, the IGS630 is more expensive.)

Attached are images of the specs.

Re: WheelTop EDX OS Series Wireless MTB Drivetrain "Posted while scratching my head wondering about this variant of the EDS OX"

On another forum that has a Wheeltop EDS thread going, they posted an image of a different version of the EDS OX with what appears to be a "fixed battery" with a built in connector to charge the battery.

Re: WheelTop EDX OS Series Wireless MTB Drivetrain I've spent hours trying to find any legal proceedings by SRAM against Wheeltop. (LANXI WHEEL TOP CYCLE INDUSTRIES CO. )  I have not been able to find anything other than speculation.  If you have any links or information, please post.  I would like to find out more.
- I suspect that there was some sort of "cease and desist" letter sent to Wheeltop because Wheeltop did write me once that they could not sell their product in the US and several other countries.  An integrated battery might be the work around?

Re: shipping times from aliexpress Just when I though shipping times were becoming faster....
The majority of my orders in the past month have added another stop in the USA as the package more slowly makes it to my house.

Just a month ago, tracking used to indicate that it has made it through customs and was in Los Angeles, followed by a stop in West Valley City Utah. Then the package would show up in my local town and out for delivery.

Now...

Goes through customs in Los Angeles,
followed by a stop in GreenWood IN, where it is takes 3 more days for the package to show up in;
West Valley City Utah.
Then the package shows up in my local town.

Why the extra stop these days?
Any one else seeing this new stop in their tracking of packages?

Re: WheelTop EDX OS Series Wireless MTB Drivetrain I am becoming frustrated fast.  I deleted the Wheeltop app from my Android/Samsung phone. and loaded whatever app is posted on the web link I had.  I was able to log in, and get to the "add equipment" page.  When I press the "find nearby devices"  nothing is found, and the app goes back to the previous page.

I switched to my wife's Apple phone.  On this version of the app, it finds the new derailleur.  When I try to bind the derailleur to the app.  It wont bind and connect to the derailleur.   Tried many times.

Then I tried inputting the MAC ID listed for the derailleur on the Apple App,  back into the option on my Android version, and nothing happens.

I am wondering if the Aliexpress special sale that included the SRAM/chain is something unique, where they might have disabled the ability to change the derailleur settings.

Thoughts?

I would also like to see a link to the App that Sriracha used to set up his derailleur.

Re: Bike Touring: Broken Carbon Tent Poles The store wrote back and told me they are making me a new set of stronger poles and apologized for the hardships I encountered on my trip.   (Yeah.)

Re: Ultralight hardtails
I just came across the Spcycle SP-M038 which claims to be 780g!

https://www.sp-cycle.com/spcycle-780g-mtb-carbon-frame-29er-boost-xc-hardtail-mountain-bike-frame-lightweight-t1100-carbon-mtb-frame-29-p4703773.html

Can't find any mention of someone online actually reviewing one or even talking about it though.

I purchased one of these frame about 1-1/2 years ago.  Finally built it up about 6 months ago.  Bike total weight can just under 19 lbs, with a Sid Ultimate SL 100mm travel fork.
(Total Weight depends more on what wheels and tires I am running on it.) To date, I really like how I build up this bike.   It climbs well, it is a 'lively' great handling frame.  So far,  I really like the bike!!!

Re: WheelTop EDX OS Series Wireless MTB Drivetrain 900 mile review using the EDS OX with a removable battery.

Overall I am very pleased with the performance and battery life of this system!!!

I had one strange thing happen, and then one other issue I need to look into.

1.  Before a multi-day ride, I left the bike sitting for 2 weeks with almost a fully charged battery.  Tried to ride the bike and it wouldn't shift.  Battery was drained.  Swapped battery and it started shifting properly.   (Makes me wonder if one will need to keep the new model fixed batter version, hooked up to its charger when the bike is sitting there.)

2.  I decided to ride a 800K/500 mile bike-packing trip with 9000M/30K+ feet of rolling-hill climbing.   Seemed like almost continuous shifting non-stop for 12 hours a day.
I was pleased to find that the battery lasted 3 days, before I decided to swap it out and install a fresh charged one.

3. After about 3 hundred miles, the derailleur stopped shifting crisply between several of the gears.  (The bike suffered through rain, mud, dust, and a lot of non-stop shifting and it was working on a 53+ pound loaded-up bike.)
I still haven't looked into why it stopped shifting a few single cog/gears.  I am thinking that I need to tune/adjust it by one or two pushes of the button in teach mode.   Since I haven't looked into it in detail, it could also be a cassette issue. Shimano XT Cassette has about 4K miles on it with little cleaning.
